Riedel Medical Center: A Blueprint of Logic and Faith
Del Prado will always have a place in the imagination for us. At least my Tijuana landscape requires it. I know of it because I saw it nearly everyday here or there. It is surprising that this building still stands where it is surviving a city that feed on the past for its identity.— December 17, 2010 9:51 a.m.
Skansen: Old Sweden in Stockholm
Yes, Stockholm has several gems from the past that are really eye catchers. Old Town is another example of that. Roaming the city is also a nice experience, the city sure knows how to balance the old with the very new.— September 26, 2010 11:14 a.m.
American Dies Before Tijuana Judge
Here goes my two pennies: Regardless of the matter if one thing characterizes Mexican police is their lack of professionalism which they much rather compensate with hardcore die-hard nationalism since it is cheaper and aplenty in a nation such as mine. My fellow citizen will happily swallow any crap wrapped in nationalistic jingoism than see the facts. The law executioners failed in guaranteeing basic human civil rights to an individual in a city which has a legal tolerance zone hence giving free rein to said behavior as conducted by the US citizen. Fact: a person died at the hands of an instrument which purportedly exacts justice. There is no excuse: the Mexican police have a lack of competence which has nothing to do, in this case, with nationalities. Period.— September 14, 2010 9:48 a.m.
Democracy, Mexico Style, and Tijuana’s Future
Yeah, I think it is a bit eerie as well. Though, and am only speculating here, I think that it lies in the interest of the US that Tijuana and it's vicinity is free from severe sorts of violence. The whole west coast is littered with Military Complex goodies. My guess. I am kind of flattered that although am not in Tj per se am still very much in tune with my conciudadanos. Thanx for the comment.— September 12, 2010 8:38 a.m.
¡Futbol!
The elementary school I went in Tijuana had a beisbol field that is still up and running as we speak. It's right across Larsen Field, go ahead, give it a Google and look, you'll see the diamond field right there and I believe it was a donation if am not wrong. Those were the days. I still have some scars on my right hand for trying to slide on a dirt field in the school, the dirt was filled by small crystals from broken bottles. So as far as am concerned this dichotomy regards the soccer and beisbol issue is pretty clear to me, for Tijuana, beisbol is and will always be it's game of choice.— June 24, 2010 10:06 a.m.
La Identidad Tijuanense
Hey guys and gals! Thanx for the comments. Don't forget that the articles which are sent in have to get a bypass from an editor. The articles have suffered some form of alteration along the way. Since I was raised bilingual for the most part I deliver both Spanish and English versions. So yes, I am translating. Glad you liked what you've read.— May 18, 2010 8:32 p.m.

Hi Cuddlefish! Why mighty obliged if I might say so. You're welcome.— May 18, 2010 8:38 a.m.

Lector Tijuanense
¡Hola Luis Miguel!
Yonder Lies It
The only thing I like about Alpert is that his records pop up everywhere, and I mean everywhere. I have a tendency to frequent the second hands shops in my town here in Sweden, called Nässjö, smack in the middle of the Swedish Highlands and yeap, you can find his records there. There is even a website that deals with second hand trinkets and yes, people eagerly pay to buy old records of Alpert. Nostalgia is a powerful drug. Nice piece Rene! Glad to see you mention Los Dug Dug's. More of that please.— March 17, 2010 10:45 p.m.
