Lymelife
This was one of the underrated movies of the year. Alec Baldwin was so much more interesting to watch in this than the latest crap picture "It's Complicated".— December 16, 2009 10:31 p.m.
At the Movies
Wait a second, Miles. Which "Death at a Funeral" are we talking about? The one from a few years ago. The only funny scene was when the small person showed up, trying to extort money from the grieving family. Karen, I saw A Serious Man. It was good. Nice ending. Lots of interesting scenes and fun scenarios. I think I liked at least 4 other Coen Brothers films more.— December 16, 2009 3:36 p.m.
Letters
My favorite part of his letter is...he asks what journalism school Patrick went to. And he ends his letter with: "I think he’s completely unacceptable. It ruined the whole article — the article was very interesting except for that. It ruined the whole article, and I feel like throwing it away." Maybe he should look up the word "redundant", as he doesn't need to say "it ruined the whole article" twice in three sentences!— December 16, 2009 3:34 p.m.
Anatomy Of A Blown Fuse
Good read, refried. I like how you seem to keep your head up, even when everything around you seems to be crumblin'— December 16, 2009 8:48 a.m.
None
The movie was good. It has its flaws. I had a 30 minute debate with Roger Ebert about it. He gave it a thumbs down (and this is the guy who gave thumbs up to Congo and Anaconda!) He told me that he watched it a second time, after getting more mail on this movie than any review he had ever done before. He said upon a second viewing, he liked it and understood it, a lot more. He changed his thumb to "up". Nice role for Swayze as a child porn creep.— December 16, 2009 8:41 a.m.
Hickman the Hero
I started going to Hickman Elementary in 1974. I remember being in first or second grade, when they told us during an assembly, about how the school got its name. Powerful stuff. I was surprised there was only one small story about Mr. Hickman when the crash occured a year ago.— December 16, 2009 8:37 a.m.
Lugging Luggage Not Hard for This Thief
I've told people this story before. But there was a small town in Nebraska or somewhere. The post office got so many complaints about "junk mail" that they told this town they wouldn't deliver it anymore. They told them for one month, they would refrain from deliverying any "junk mail." And, after a few weeks, the town was going nuts. They were mad. Lots of them asked where their "Pennysaver" was. They didn't think that was "junk". Another one wanted their Mervynn's catalog, etc etc etc. The town quickly decided they wanted their junk mail after all.— December 16, 2009 8:33 a.m.
Everybody's Got Something to Hide (especially me and my monkey meat)
With these old women killing each other, some sitcom has to be on top of this. I never watched The Golden Girls. They weren't roommates, were they? If not, the idea of having two blue hairs yelling at each other on a daily basis...well, it seems like comedy gold.— December 15, 2009 3:37 p.m.
A City Under Television Skies
Funny stuff, Karen. You rule! Thanks for the New Awlins info, Gekko. And shizzy, that was a good episode. But in regards to guns, I like the episode where Homer wants to buy a gun. So many funny things happen in it. Homer has to wait to buy a gun (to shoot his Christian neighbor Flanders). When he finds out he has to wait for 7 days he declaires "But I'm angry now!" When Marge objects to the gun in the first place, she wakes up from a nap on the couch, to see the barrell of a gun right in her face.— December 15, 2009 3:34 p.m.
Everybody's Got Something to Hide (especially me and my monkey meat)
That's funny, refried. I always found that to be one of the stranger things the defense brought up in that case. This guy was 6'1" and a former NFL player. I'm think he was very capable of killing his ex-wife and a waiter, even if he had arthritis, turf toe, bad knees, etc.— December 14, 2009 2:58 p.m.
