Little Things
A true artist produces art because he/she must. I write because if I don't I'll explode. Not because I want to make money. Of course I'm a fool so don't listen to me. As for talent. You have plenty of that. So go get em RG.

Turkey Day
I also have fond memories of childhood Thanksgivings spent in Los Angeles. Funny how our experiences chamge us as we grow older.

Lacanian TV AD: Petit Hommage to the “Wicked Costly” Installment of NHTBW by FullFlavorPike
Far out. I dig your groove. Glad I came to this internet cafe in Tijuana on Turkey day in the USA.

Chocolate cars in Tijuana
To RefriedGringo: You were right about the wooden shacks in my last story. Most people start out with a wooden shack and build cinder block dwellings afterward. We now have two such rooms that didn't exist two years ago when the fire happened. Also, because our lots are located on land that is still owned by the real estate company, there are no maps available for either fire or police to use. As for the Tijuana fire department (who operate in the city proper), in my humble opinion, those brave people are about the only heroes that we Tijuanenses can rely on. My girlfriend's son Eric worked for the Cruz Roja for about a year but quit when the nightmares became unbearable. He has some pretty frightening tales to tell. To SDaniels: The banter between you and RG is great. I really dig it. Especially on RG's latest story. Also, you both handle the BLOG WARRIORS with a lot of class. I wish I had more time to chat but they've increased my hours at The French Gourmet and the lack of sleep is making me goofy. Take care.

Destiny's Rainbow
Re#11: When it comes to Mexican cuisine I must humbly defer to my girlfriend Trini's daughter Miriam. She was raised by her grandmother in Nayarit and her grandma taught her well. My job is to babysit six month old Luisito and then try not to get to much mole sauce all over me when I do eat. I like the video taping idea. Good thinking. When I'm downtown I'm usually running from trolley to bus, or bus to trolley. When I do 'kick back' it's usually in North Park. Re##16 Thanks for reminding me that albondiga soup was another of my grandma's favorite recipes. Especially in winter. It's been fifteen years but I can still remember her singing Doris Day and Vicente Fernandez songs while patting the meat and rice balls together.

Tijuana, My Kind of Town
I agree, he was probably carrying guns and yes five hundred dollars is a lot of money. The problem with this article is that I didn't ask the taxi driver when this occurred. Nowadays, many gunmen escape via public transportation. Cops have a tendency to ignore buses and cabs. I have several stories I'm working on, told to me by people who were on buses with such characters. As for the money, once again a time line is the factor. When did this event take place? If it happened during the heyday of the Arellano family then throwing around money like that would sound about right. I once spoke with a middle aged sex service worker who wistfully recalled the 'glory days' of the Arellano's rule. She said quote; "When the Arellano's ran our town I could make two or three hundred a night by just stripping. I never had to screw anybody."

Tijuana/San Diego buses #5
re#1: Thank you for the compliment. re#2 I despise people who litter. Must of been all those ecology programs I participated in as a kid in the late sixties and early seventies. Before the great sixties revolution went butt up.

Destiny's Rainbow
You are right about racism in novelas and music videos. To those two I would add television news broadcasts. My favorite Mexican dish is Mole. Which you wrote about making, awhile back. I really liked that story. My second favorite meal was also my grandma's favorite to make, chili rellenos.
— August 24, 2009 8:06 a.m.
Tijuana, My Kind of Town
Just sat down at my uncle's computer to post a new story and wow! The father of the little girl I wrote about is an unemployed mason who is helping me build a 'writing room' behind my palatial wooden shack. So she will also benefit from the story. My greatest reward are the words of congratulations sent by fellow bloggers. Thanks folks.

La Crisis-Recession or Depression?
re#1 Thanks for the positive feedback on 'La Crisis.' Re#9(A Mule for the Road). I don't have an E-Mail. I have been using computers since my college years in the early nineties. I was a staff writer/editor at ELAC and a staff writer at CSULA. Since then I have self published two novels and presently stumble through my third. Yet, I have never sent or received an E-Mail. Could be one of the reasons why this caveman labors in obscurity. I think your E-Mail went to my aunt or uncle. They don't open a lot of their stuff. "I would still like your advice on publishing," wrote the caveman on the wall.

Little Things
A true artist produces art because he/she must. I write because if I don't I'll explode. Not because I want to make money. Of course I'm a fool so don't listen to me. As for talent. You have plenty of that. So go get em RG.— January 7, 2010 noon
Turkey Day
I also have fond memories of childhood Thanksgivings spent in Los Angeles. Funny how our experiences chamge us as we grow older.— November 26, 2009 2:25 p.m.
Lacanian TV AD: Petit Hommage to the “Wicked Costly” Installment of NHTBW by FullFlavorPike
Far out. I dig your groove. Glad I came to this internet cafe in Tijuana on Turkey day in the USA.— November 26, 2009 2:21 p.m.
Take care.— September 14, 2009 7 p.m.
It's been fifteen years but I can still remember her singing Doris Day and Vicente Fernandez songs while patting the meat and rice balls together.— August 27, 2009 10:55 a.m.
I never had to screw anybody."— August 24, 2009 8:26 a.m.
Tijuana/San Diego buses #5
re#1: Thank you for the compliment. re#2 I despise people who litter. Must of been all those ecology programs I participated in as a kid in the late sixties and early seventies. Before the great sixties revolution went butt up.— August 24, 2009 8:14 a.m.

You are right about racism in novelas and music videos. To those two I would add television news broadcasts. My favorite Mexican dish is Mole. Which you wrote about making, awhile back. I really liked that story. My second favorite meal was also my grandma's favorite to make, chili rellenos.— August 24, 2009 8:06 a.m.
Thanks folks.— August 12, 2009 9:06 a.m.
"I would still like your advice on publishing," wrote the caveman on the wall.— April 23, 2009 10:39 a.m.
