All the Money in the World buys retakes

Scott, I would respectfully disagree with you regarding the switch from Spacey to Plummer being an improvement. I saw the original trailer with Kevin Spacey in the role and I've now seen the new one with Christopher Plummer. What strikes me is Christopher Plummer looks like Christopher Plummer. I not very familiar with what J. Paul Getty looked like, but I don't think he looked like Mr. Plummer. When Kevin Spacey was in the role, and again it is solely based on that small clip we get with a trailer, he looked to me like he 'might' look like J. Paul Getty. And that is based on the fact that he definitely did not look like Kevin Spacey. He didn't even move like Kevin Spacey. His whole manner seemed very much like he could have been just like J. Paul Getty. I'm wondering if Christopher Plummer waved off the make-up people and just went as is. I think it is the film's loss that Kevin Spacey got the hook. Imho, he made a much more convincing Getty.

Spruce Street suspension bridge brings out demented thoughts

A tad heavy handed with the poetic flourishes; more a distraction than enhancement. But a good story nonetheless.

Curse of the Georgia Street Bridge

Regarding that Coronado Bridge "swindle," I read somewhere that the bridge had to be made longer in order to attain the necessary height without it being too steep a grade. In order for the larger ships to pass underneath safely, the bridge had to be at a certain height. If the builders had gone with a straight "Point A to Point B" bridge, the incline would have been too steep for the car traffic. So they decided to add some length by putting in the curves. A longer bridge can attain the same height and do it with less of a grade. I don't think we have to worry about it with the Georgia St. Bridge.

North Park syringe swap site won't change soon

I've been going to the North Park library for years now, and have driven past this RV dozens of times. I just learned today, with this article, that it is a needle swap. I had always thought it was some kind of underground food truck serving the hipsters. I thought it odd that there was no signage on the RV, but hey, this is North Park and there are always some kind of super-secret, unless you know the website, event going on. I certainly would not have guessed from the look of the crowd that it was syringes being dispensed,. I think it is a good location and the operators are providing an important service that benefits the health of the community. Actually, they should get more support. Besides, most of the people bringing small kids to the events at the library are usually coming by car (little legs can't walk very far) and so they park in the library's lot which is on the other side of the library, away from and out of sight of the truck.

Linda Vista renters threaten strike

It should get ugly. The City refuses to confront the real reason for the housing shortage. It's not a lack of housing; there are plenty of available apartments. It's just that nobody can afford them. Someone should look at the how much the rents have gone up in the last 5 years, and then compare that to residents income. The problem is not a lack of housing-- it's GREED. It should get ugly. It should get very very ugly.

Bravo to you, Scott, for not beating these dimwits to death. I cannot understand what it is with the younger folks. They seem to be too dense or too stupid to realize how rude and offensive they are. Even with the big pre-show production about not "ruining the movie by using your cellphone," they still just have to boot up. I'm thinking of a taser. That might get their attention.

It's also possible that it was Giunti's claim of having partnered with Google that may where he tripped up and also making the false claim of being the developer of the app.
