Bless you Barb. I have similar feelings surrounding loss.
Right now our family is trying to find a lost member of our family, Marie Hanson. http://mariehansonmissing.com/ She went to the Rainbow Gathering in July and never came home.
Those two weeks before your cousin's body was found must have been agonizing, especially coupled with the national tragedy that everyone was experiencing. Marie's family is going through something similar. One of ours is missing, and the void is unspeakably deep and horrifying. One cannot begin to imagine "what if" because the fear is too big.
It's now been a month and a half, and still no word, no clues, no answers. But you voiced how I'm feeling: this is a good opportunity to remind those I love of my feelings. This is a teaching moment and an experience that will forever change those who are touched by the event.
Bless your cousin Jeffrey, and your family who will have to live daily with the loss of someone so dear. — August 16, 2011 8:37 a.m.
Hi Nan, thank you for reading. I wrote this for several reasons. One, because I had to get it off my chest; two, because I really want to get the word out there to as many people as possible and this is a venue even if it appears you're the only one reading it, at least it's one more person aware that she is missing; and three, at the request of Marie's family so that they could have something current to put up on their blog. If you go to http://mariehansonmissing.com/ you will see this blog posted there.
Marie Hanson Missing is the Facebook profile her family has created for the search effort: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002761…
This is the most recent news, copied directly from the Find Marie Hanson blog:
"Yesterday the Skamania County Sheriff’s office called in a Search and Rescue team to search the area near Skookum Meadow but espite an extensive search of that area, the nearby river and latrine area, no new evidence was found.
Marie’s family is now asking everyone who saw Marie at any time to come forward with dates, times and specifics about locations and people who were seen with Marie.
Did you speak to or see Marie at the Gathering? If so, when, where and who was she with? Will you be attending a regional Gathering and would you be willing to distribute posters and ask questions?
Please help us by emailing [email protected] any details, any new contacts for us to reach out to or anything that you think may be relevant to Marie’s case. Please help us fill in the gaps:
Marie arrived at the Gathering on July 2nd with “Mellow” and camped near Lovin’ Oven.
She and Mellow moved their camp to the Rear Gate on July 5th.
They were joined by Mellow’s girlfriend Cathy on July 6th.
The last sighting of Marie was the morning of July 7th near the rear gate. She never came back to camp, leaving all of her belongings.
Mellow searched for Marie, showing her ID to people at the Gathering until the morning of July 10th, when he and Cathy returned home.
Thank you!!!"

**** I REALLY APPRECIATE anyone who is willing to repost this blog, or email links to the Marie Hanson Missing Facebook page, or the Find Marie Hanson blog page.
Our biggest fear is that she is somewhere without her medication; confused and in pain. The search this weekend did not turn up any clues of substance and we're grateful to know she's not hurting (or worse) on the side of the mountain. But that does not mean she is out of danger.
Please, please, please, take a moment, share her name and picture. Someone has to have seen her. The sheriff department up there does not seem to be taking this seriously and it's up to her family to convince the public that she is worth looking for.
Thank you.

Where Hummingbirds Land
John, this is a beautiful, succinct piece of writing! "Some people want to be rich. Some people want to be famous. Some people want to be powerful. And some people want all of the above. Me, all I ever wanted was to live where hummingbirds land." Me too. I want this too. And bless you for creating a piece of green. The world needs more of those.— August 16, 2011 9:15 a.m.

Candye Kane Booted From Blues Fest Over Porn Past
Well written piece. If no one with bi/gay sexual orientation did music it would be pretty quiet around here. I wonder who they think cares? She's an inspiration and truly has achieved the American Dream. It's their loss Candye... keep belting out those blues!— August 8, 2011 9:36 a.m.
