CV Residet...are you Robert Bleisch?— September 7, 2013 9:38 a.m.
Chula Vista school hurries to get ready for Arne Duncan
To CV Resident: if one considers the number of bodies that Mr. Bleisch has left behind him in his efforts to transform CPM, one might want to reconsider their view of what's happening at CPM. Dr. Brand has placed Mr. Bleisch on a pedestal. My experience with Dr. Brand and the fellows he has placed on a pedestal, is that most all have fallen off when the rope of indictments, back room deals, and other good old boy network games has been wrapped around their necks. I, personally, would run as far and as fast as I could AWAY from Dr. Brand and his boys like Mr. Bleisch, less I be caught up in the falling debris.— September 7, 2013 9:35 a.m.
National City Planning Commission prodded to decide on making space for Alliant Int'l University
Susan, we had two late busses last year for under $10,000. Now we have one for $40,000. Without the late bus, many of our students cannot stay after school for tutoring and extra curricular activities--especially when it starts to get dark in the afternoon. So, we are one bus down, and out $30,000 for after school programs deemed essential for a program improvement district.— August 18, 2013 2:54 p.m.

This is true at our site. Late busses for after school programs now cost close to $40,000. We might as well buy the bus! We're also paying upwards of $90,000 from out site budget for the DWAST teachers. And we only see them about once a week or so. That's $130,000 from one site's budget. Susan, this is a good one to look into. It's not illegal, just unconscionable.— August 18, 2013 2:50 p.m.

LaLucha, you may be on to something. I remember when A-------'s name stopped appearing on watchdog articles, and then those articles about SUHSD stopped appearing. The name finally resurfaced on police blog stuff, ambulance chasing, and the like. To me, a retired journalist, this was a sure sign of displeasure on the part of her editorial staff.— August 18, 2013 2:45 p.m.

Week in review: Sweetwater Union High School District
Attended some meetings with the UCSD extension a few months ago. Seems like they were working on offering entry level courses on our high school campuses in south bay. For Free.— June 29, 2013 10:44 p.m.
Sweetwater scandal: Ed Brand’s claims contradicted
Many people with integrity have run for public office in the south bay. Unfortunately, very few know how to conduct a campaign. When you are running against incumbents you need do more than be a good person. When I first started investigating our campaign finances I was amazed by three things. The first was the fact that only district employees and those doing business with the district were making contributions. The second was how little of the money was being spent on actual campaigning. The third was the fact that these board members would make contributions of their own campaign funds to other politicians who were farther up the food chain. Of course Filner backer Pearl! She used other peoples money to contribute to his campaigns. He probably didn't know that, or didn't care. Money is money. Imagine what would happen if someone were to actually mount a real, live campaign in south bay. You know, kiss babies, march in parades, stand on street corners with those stupid signs, seek the endorsement of every Rotary Club and political action committee on both sides of the aisle.— June 3, 2013 9:26 p.m.
