Castle Park Middle School principal punches back!!
True, true, all too true. More often than not, it's the D. O. that messes things up. Ignores time lines. Doesn't report to the credential commission. Loses documentation, or never bothers to collect any. Hires folks because they are team players--who cares if they can teach as long as they support the principal's agenda.— February 9, 2014 5:25 p.m.
Castle Park Middle School principal punches back!!
It's a frustrating process--trying to fire a teacher for misconduct. And when it's an administrator? Even harder. Staff reported facts to the board years ago about Mr. Bleisch. He was promoted anyway. If parents and teachers have concerns about this teacher they should also contact the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing. There is a report form on their web site. They will follow up on these complaints. Also, it would be good for these parents to know that crimes and misdemeanors, suspensions etc., are reported to the commission per education code. Still, they want to hear from the community so if you have direct knowledge, by all means, report it!— February 9, 2014 5:14 p.m.
Castle Park Middle School principal punches back!!
If ever there a reason to support the K-8 move in Chula Vista...Bobby just gave those parents another.— February 9, 2014 4:47 p.m.
Few details on Sweetwater district's student-data-sharing deal
Here is another link to the entire implementation grant application for SBCS. Check out the 80-page appendix for program specifics. The school district stuff starts on page 18 or so. Dollar costs are redacted. But, let's see, Mr. Bleisch said his slice of the pie was $100,000 in that email he sent to Mr. Alt. Is that all, or just the first installment? Few details on Sweetwater district's student-data-sharing deal
Check out this link: is this the "data sharing agreement" that Mr. Bleisch was talking about? You know, it's probably okay to share data. How else would one determine the success or failure of a program. What bothers me is that Mr. Bleisch wanted the money to buy flags and stages. Was that how the money was supposed to be spent? Few details on Sweetwater district's student-data-sharing deal
SBCS has too many plates in the air. Ms. Lembo must surely sense this, hence her appearance at the Reader interview. The only question that remains, is how long will it take her to realize that the GTM (Granger Turn Around Model) is outmoded and ineffectual in the face of new common core standards? Mandatory Saturday School's and and targeted interventions are useless in the face of a new curriculum that asks students to think, apply, ponder, reflect, and write. Arne Duncan and the Dept. of Ed. loves the GTM stuff because they are still pushing standardized testing. In the meantime, California has thumbed its nose at NCLB in favor of common core implementation. Whatever you may think of it, CC is here to stay. The GTM model is the least likely of models to support kids and teachers as they strife to achieve these new goals.— December 30, 2013 10:52 p.m.
Sweetwater school district invites more suspicion
Right on! Entrenched corruption with really deep roots. You folks who go to these board meetings and speak all of the time...you need to find a candidate to run for the board and focus all of this anger and frustration on getting him or elected. And then you need to get two more elected after that. It's a long process, but that's the only way this is going to change. Simply putting a name on the ballot is not enough these days. Get out! Start kissing babies! Start shaking hands! Start raising money! Start getting endorsements!— December 22, 2013 2:23 p.m.
Sweetwater school district invites more suspicion
We have tried over and over again to make sure the process is followed. This district office has thumbed it's nose at the process. I think the only thing that will end this is a 60-minutes report or similar national exposure. These guys are sociopathic when it comes to process. They do not give a flying fling in a donut hole. And if Arlie's plea deal is any indication, nothing much will change because it appears that the people who would or could enforce the rules don't really care either. I think the teachers had it right the night they took over the board meeting. That's what it's come down to--civil disobedience in order to draw attention to a corrupt, and lethargic system.— December 22, 2013 2:16 p.m.
Sweetwater school board questions funds for investigators
A couple of thoughts--first of which is this intimidation of Ms. Cheers. Catherine, you are certainly not the only one to contact the DA regarding the numerous grievances raised over the years re campaign funding and illegal allocation of tax payer money. Many teachers also called the DA office over the years. And therein lies the problem. These teachers are employed by the district they are reporting. Whistle blowers never survive the process, regardless of what the law says. And most of these teachers don't live or vote in the district. So much for campaigning and signing petitions. I am horrified to learn of these expenditures for private investigative services. Safe to assume that union activists have had emails examined.— September 25, 2013 8:38 a.m.
Sweetwater school district backs off on Alliant International University plan
When is Mr. Duncan visiting? Will Susan be there? Can we present him with a packet of the UT and Reader stories? He went to school. Perhaps he is capable of connecting some dots for us? Oh, and Maria...you should be investigated by the credentialing commission. Not a bad idea. Think I will give them a call.— September 8, 2013 9:05 a.m.
