Sweetwater district sued from Texas
No, I am not Elevation or a supporter of Bleisch. I'm serious about this. Susan is no longer on the Reader staff. Why? What's up?— September 15, 2015 6:24 p.m.
Sweetwater district sued from Texas
Sounds like we need to set up a legal defense fund for Susan.— September 15, 2015 6:16 p.m.
Cory Briggs, environmental ambulance-chaser?
Kind of like a Mello Roos district. Think I spelled that correctly.— June 6, 2014 3:40 p.m.
Cory Briggs, environmental ambulance-chaser?
Are they illegal or just poorly managed?— June 6, 2014 3:39 p.m.
Cory Briggs, environmental ambulance-chaser?
Dr. Brand didn't accept Briggs' offer because there was nothing in it for Dr. Brand and his friends. That's my take on things.— June 6, 2014 3:37 p.m.
Trails of Tierrasanta are paved with good intentions
You quit apparently. Possibly, you are the one who does not play well with others? Sounds like this lady is trying to protect the open spaces. What, or whom are you trying to protect?— May 29, 2014 9:31 p.m.
Trails of Tierrasanta are paved with good intentions
Kelly, can you make any comments that are pertinent to the facts as presented in the article? Attacking the messenger is unseemly at best.— May 29, 2014 4:17 p.m.
Sweetwater chaos reaches Judge España’s court
LightSaber, I could not agree more. The judge is a complete disappointment. I assume that she is a political appointment.— May 9, 2014 4:43 p.m.
Crackdown on college kids
Code enforcement seems to be at the bottom of the city's funding priorities. Imagine the improvement in the quality of life in SD if we could get even half of the codes enforced? Maybe we should have NCC offices in all of the major neighborhoods. They could set up shop in the library or local fire station. We could have roving code enforcement vans-- just like blood mobiles! Okay. Maybe that's a little silly. But you get my point. We need to ramp up NCC services city wide.— May 8, 2014 6:24 p.m.
Immigrants bad for environment, TV ads say
It's like they say, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Cut down the fences so we can eat that grass over there. Cool. But where do we go after we've eaten that grass? It's a closed system, this planet of ours. My observation is that people in general have been very, very bad for this closed system--especially really poor, hungry people. They seek opportunities to survive. Seems to me that as their economic status improves, their birth rates start to lower. Happened on both sides of my family. Big families are expensive to raise in a post agriculture or post industrial society. Not in favor of Feinstein's Ag Jobs approach however. She wants the families to come with the agricultural workers. Who is gonna pay for the education and health care of all of those poor folks? The counties will bear the brunt of impact in terms of health care. The state taxpayer will be footing the education costs. Can we afford this?— April 19, 2014 2:25 p.m.
