When it's similar, it's REALLY similar. One difference is that saint veneration seems much more common in latin catholicism than the stoic, Irish sort. Praying to saints and the construction of shrines in latin catholicism looks to be taken almost to the degree that the Eastern Orthodox churches practice icon veneration.— November 6, 2009 12:09 a.m.
