This isn't a blog. It is an advertisement for a restaurant in Ensenada. Only the Coral Hotel didn't have to pay The Reader for an ad block like the other businesses advertising on the right side of this page. Sheesh! What a moocher.— May 15, 2012 3:46 p.m.
A TALE OF TWO LEGENDS
LOS ANGELES — Three crew members of a sailboat have been found dead and a fourth person is missing after their boat ran into trouble during a yacht race off the coasts of California and Mexico. Coast Guard Petty Officer Henry Dunphy says rescuers are searching late Saturday for the crew member after finding the bodies and debris from the boat near the Coronado Islands in Mexico. He says the Coast Guard was investigating what may have happened to the boat. The 37-foot Aegean was participating in the 125-mile Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race that began Friday. Its home port is Redondo Beach. The names of the dead were not released pending notification of next of kin.— April 28, 2012 10:20 p.m.
The Tuscany of Baja, San Antonio Del Mar

Rosarito Beach Sportfishing, Alive and Well
Well, that makes for an interesting story -- about the Rosarito pier -- too bad it is just not true. The pier was built so cruise ships could stop at Rosarito. Unfortunately, it was poorly planned. It is next to the outfall of the Rosarito Creek, which dumps large amounts of sand and rock into the ocean when there is a heavy rain. Between the time construction of the pier started and was finished, the sea bottom silted up and lowered the ocean depth. When the first cruise ship arrived, it was delayed in its departure, as when the tide went out it was stuck on the bottom. The ship had to wait for the tide to come in to depart. Since then, no cruise ship has ever returned to Rosarito. Now it is a very expensive fishing pier. That was not the original plan.— March 30, 2012 9:46 p.m.
Rock Fishermen do it with Mussel!
I'm not sure what you are driving at here, since it is legal to take shellfish in California if one has a fishing license. However, Tommy, now you are advising your readers to blatantly ignore and violate Mexico's laws and regulations. Here is what Mexico says about it: http://www.conapescasandiego.org/contenido.cfm?co… "A fishing license allows to capture only fin fish. It does not allow to capture any other mollusks or crustaceans, and their capture by anyone is strictly prohibited." By the way, Tommy, Mexico has very strict laws about foreigners meddling in their internal affairs. It is grounds for deportation if a foreigner in Mexico advises others to violate Mexican laws.— March 20, 2012 9:14 a.m.
