UCAN: supposedly, revenue should have gone into different year
I would not be a bit surprised if BOTH SDG&E and Edison are using their FULL political influence in this, in order to keep UCAN as dysfunctional as possible, since that would save them huge amounts of money, especially now that San Onofre's potential rebates are well over a Billion Dollars! Both of them are laughing all the way to the Bank, since ratepayers are now paying about 60 million dollars a month (on top of the one Billion they have already paid for SCE's poorly designed defective steam generators) and getting nothing for it but smiles from these Utilities shareholders.— April 3, 2013 1:40 p.m.
City of San Diego hopped up on craft breweries; proposing zoning changes to allow for tasting rooms
The City Council just smiles when the concept of a using CUP (Conditional Use Permit) to control problematic late night alcohol venues but when TASTING ROOMS comes up then it is FULL $PEED AHEAD... WHEE, the more the merrier! I guess neighborhoods now have ZERO say in how many and how late these "Tasting Clubs" can operate; no wonder visitors are not coming to San Diego, there are much safer places to travel to that are not "JUST" known for alcohol activities... Wake up City Council before we have to cut your Salaries because we have lost all our TOT money!— March 27, 2013 1:33 p.m.
A passage from Lucretius’s De Rerum Natura
Amazing poem since he lived from 99 to 55 BC, luckily translated for us by someone that lived from 1894 to 1969. Modern access to all forms of media including Poetry is such a gift to mankind.— March 22, 2013 6:01 p.m.
Drone Protests hit six month mark, model Reaper drone unveiled
Most Drones are far less expensive, less noisy and much cheaper to operate than helicopters, so expect to see law enforcement embrace them as a cost saving item. The video "feed" from these drones should be posted on the web, (unless they have a a court order), which would prevent the operators of these drones from doing unauthorized public surveillance like zooming in on sun bathers and the like... Expect many MORE video traffic cameras and coming soon, Robotic patrol cars next.— March 17, 2013 10:07 a.m.
None
I look forward to learning why the Judge went for the lower price offer; since those "getting" the money will be getting much less!— March 17, 2013 9:57 a.m.
Full nondisclosure by KPBS
KPBS is VERY careful not to ruffle any Ultra Wealthy feathers because then they might not get any future funding, so the financial "fix" is in and that in itself keeps the "public" LE$$ informed... Salute to the READER for being the one independent voice in San Diego! As the Wealthy buy ever more of MSM, news will become ever more Profitganda* based. * http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Pr… Profitganda is the use of phony "feel good" information to sell an idea, product or concept to the masses.— March 15, 2013 5:57 p.m.
Peevey, supposed to be neutral, pushed secretly for Pio Pico
Just like Nuclear Payback* * http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Nu… Those that support nuclear power because nuclear power somehow supports them; no matter what the health implications or other "costs" are for others.— March 2, 2013 10:13 a.m.
Peevey, supposed to be neutral, pushed secretly for Pio Pico
Perhaps calls to the CA DOJ might prove worthwhile! At least that way, they cannot say they were not aware of this!— March 1, 2013 5:08 p.m.
Peevey, supposed to be neutral, pushed secretly for Pio Pico
Agreed, great comment!— March 1, 2013 10:47 a.m.
Peevey, supposed to be neutral, pushed secretly for Pio Pico
Yet another glimpse into the way that ratepayers are being "punked" by those that have sworn to be impartial and look out for the public good, instead we learn that they are far more concerned about what is best for the Utilities (and their shareholders) they are supposed to be regulating! If this does not get the attention of the CA Attorney General, Kamala D. Harris, then I can't imagine what will! The CPUC and those that have the ability to Staff it need to review the [Ralph M. Brown Act][1] and start cleaning house ASAP. [1]: http://www.sandiego.gov/planning/community/pdf/co…— March 1, 2013 10:46 a.m.
