Public Utilities Commission reopens San Onofre case
This iceberg is only the tip of an exponentially larger iceberg, under which lies a yet exponentially larger one . . . aw, hell--it's iceberg's all the way down!— May 9, 2016 7:43 p.m.
Junior Seau's doctor-buddy could lose license
Too many generalizations and no enough specifics--one definition of gossip, malicious, sensationalist, or otherwise. Too early for a feeding frenzy.— May 2, 2016 10:01 p.m.
San Diego's welfare plan for hotel owners
Please correct me (with evidence) if I am wrong, but I believe that the bed tax originally went to support public institutions like museums that draw tourist to the hotels. That is a year 'round use of the money, but it has been shuffled off to other things over the years. The ballpark will be the ultimate "Giant Sucking Sound" that will dry up support for public institutions to the point of strangling them. Their only alternative will be to be even bigger "profit centers" than they already are, charging higher and higher entrance fees, effectively denying access to the very people (e.g. poor children) they were designed to educate. No more sleight of hand, PLEASE!— April 30, 2016 2:02 p.m.
Attorney general Kamala Harris's predictable "malpractice"
What about San Onofre? Others? How to find chapter and verse, the string of evidence beyond just making a claim. I'm sure she's in denial because her husband works for Sempra, so a mere claim won't cut it. I have to be able to verify my claims.— April 30, 2016 1:51 p.m.
Attorney general Kamala Harris's predictable "malpractice"
Thanks for the summary. I want to be able to talk intelligently with people about the specifics, but find I need a crib sheet. I was talking with a woman a few days ago, and when it came out that her husband "worked in finance," and asked her for specifics, she said he worked for Sempra. I said something like "They're crooks!" but found that I couldn't recite chapter and verse. That's what I need help with, and I suspect I'm not alone. Or maybe a fact sheet/chronology to hand out. I doubt that very many people will actually visit you blog and paw through all the blah-blah to get the meat of the matter organized, but I refer them to you anyway. Maybe I can get this woman to do some pillow-talk if I know what I'm talking about and can provide a chain of evidence.— April 30, 2016 9:29 a.m.
Hispanic entrepreneurs do best in Texas
Another Texophobe, eh?— April 28, 2016 10:08 p.m.
Attorney general Kamala Harris's predictable "malpractice"
I hope CaptD or someone will compile a fact sheet/talking points on the whole mess. I'm so confused I've forgotten to whom and by whom what was done for whom and when. Sempra SDG&E PG&E The Browns Peevey Harris Others How about some of these names? No novelist could make this stuff up!— April 28, 2016 8:48 p.m.

Stadium shuffle continues within NFL
Boyhood, after about age 13, is adolescent behavior, a lack of maturity, not necessarily related to the passage of time. A related form is often referred to as "good ol' boys." It means that rather than have the guts to stand on principle, one fawns before authority, a$$-kissing one's way as far up the ladder of avarice as possible.— April 28, 2016 2:53 p.m.
San Diego's welfare plan for hotel owners
". . . The social aspect of convention attendance just doesn't motivate people . . . " They used to be "meat markets," places to kick up your heels far from home and live out some fantasies--*in your dreams*. With "social" media, you can *virtually* do that on-line now. How has Match.com's stock been doing?— April 28, 2016 2:47 p.m.
