County clerk has infused $147K into reelection campaign
If it quacks like a duck,..... What he did is not a matter of opinion when it comes to the same sex issue. He used the system and circumvented the supreme court's action,(or lack thereof) and pursued his interpretation according to his agenda. Plain and simple. As far as I'm concerned he should be ousted like "all" incumbents this cycle. They get too comfortable, they start to act as if they know better than their constituencies when they in fact work for us. Well, he didn't work for us on that issue. Bye, bye Mr. Dronenburg.— February 24, 2014 5:31 p.m.
Big plans for Chula Vista’s Vogue Theater
Oh please, let it be true. I know, us old folks going down memory lane but, THX-1138 and Smoky & the Bandit on the same bill and just as the show got out and we're waiting for our ride, a large panel van slowly rolls up to the curb. The engine starts to revv up as the sliding door suddenly opens exposing five bare asses mooning us all. The van races away leaving pale, shocked and bemused faces scattered on the sidewalk. The Chula Vista Mooning team struck again! Seriously 'though, bring 'er back! She's been empty too long! Mmmmm yeah anniej, La Bella's. Yeah, La Bella's— February 22, 2014 8:31 p.m.
Carlsbad mall security banishes steampunk group
Banishment, Exile, pretty harsh word for simply kicking out the undesireables that clog our sidewalks, streets, restaurants and oh, of course our Federally protected last bastions of social and financial conformity, the Malls. WestField has always shown a deep concern for its shoppers and I for one am happy and I feel a whole heck of alot safer knowing that pseudo vampires aren't allowed leaving room for the real vampires to choose their dining subjects. What pleases me even more is the fact that these Vapor Non-conformists are being held in check. Have you seen their weapons? The technology behind steam fused lazers is way ahead of it's Victorian origins and threatens the very existence of our shopping rights as consumers! I congratulate you on your exclusion of these undesireables and further more I encourage you to keep the asians, hispanos, and of course the afro-americans OUT! They're all subversives that demand equality, civil,(and human) rights. Lets also give credit to the Carlsbad police for making sure such exclusions are lawfully enforced. Good, happy feeling stuff all around. Shoot, I forgot the jews too! Yeah the jews!!!— February 12, 2014 9:38 a.m.
Allred and Filner lawyers agree to 30-day delay
God, please settle and make this whole ugly chapter in San Diego's history go away already!— January 27, 2014 12:38 p.m.
Uncle, nephew arrested during San Marcos church robbery
The family that steals together, goes to jail together. Imagine having to explain that to your nephew's parents. One of which is your sibling. God I'd love to hear that conversation!— January 27, 2014 12:34 p.m.
Chula Vista's UltraStar theater to close
Hey people, corporations run our lives. Just when we think we can do something about it, our state or federal officials(whom we voted in office) will approve what we don't want and what the lobbyists paid hard cash for. Believe the lies? Keep voting the way you have been. However, if you see the bullshit for what it is, vote for someone who will keep your interests in mind. Be a proactive and aware voter!— December 28, 2013 11:22 p.m.
UCSD computer program to ID "urban tribe" members
And all us humans, (including yourself Mr. Inventor) need to be classified, categorized, identified for what and who's purpose or dissemination? These are the things that we marvel at but, when you understand the only thing this technology is good for, I hope you the reader of this is thinking and thinking hard. Consider the ramifications of this.— December 17, 2013 1:13 p.m.
Spike strip ends low-speed car chase in O.B.
Man at the speeds they were reportedly going, a snail could've avoided them! Sounds as though the Friday night revelers were treated to an evening's entertainment capped with an urban floor show! Lucky.— December 17, 2013 1:05 p.m.
Layoffs expected at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems
Miniaturize them, remove the weapons systems and replace with nerf missiles, sell the rights to Tyco and they'll be the next big thing at the Toy stores! Adapt and overcome. A whole new market is born!— November 23, 2013 10:26 a.m.
Shade, heat, johns missing from library café
Been there a few times already, the resources available to the average visitor are vast and the architecture's open theme with it's many study and research nooks is amazing and very comfortable. It does seem that restrooms were an after thought. The restroom at your neighborhood fast food joint is larger. So imagine if you will, a line in your bed room to use the facilities. One urinal, One toilet, two, yes, two sinks. Sad, very sad.— November 13, 2013 10:35 p.m.
