Tijuana trucking disasters facilitated by residents
If that crap happened here, heads would roll. So typical of Tijuana government to pass the buck when Tijuana government should've done something about the stolen sand and more importantly, not allowed a structure to be built. Here, if you even dream of constructing something, city inspectors show up almost magically. Within minutes, sometime. People died, who's gonna be held accountable? Wouldn't suprise me if the truck driver is in jail a la scapegoat. Andenle muchachos, ya basta con estupideses!— June 13, 2013 9:18 a.m.
Local Republican endorsement slate rolled out
Let the fear-mongering begin! If the GOP really believes they're going to make a come back, maybe they should look at their track record for the last twelve months. Of course with all the scandals out there to provide fuel for the smoke and mirror specialists that they are, well good luck. Just remember GOP, the voters aren't stupid. We remember, oh yes, we remember. Do you remember Brian Bilbray? We didn't believe him, why should we believe you?— June 12, 2013 12:54 p.m.
Something in the air
How is it a competition when not so much as a single note is played? Maybe 'cause I'm a musician I would judge how accurate the playing looks and not how high the wigged, blue sequined suited imitator jumps. I had the displeasure of watching this on the TV and all I saw were jumpers, arm swingers, (a la Pete Townsend) and kooks. Leave the air guitar to the dance floors, garages and arena floors where they belong and have a battle of real bands. I understand the passion and love for the song they're,...ah, performing, imitating but, whoever heard of an air cooking competition? Nuff sad,...I mean said. C'mon somebody, convince me I'm wrong.— June 12, 2013 12:42 p.m.
YMCA to take over Imperial Beach sports park?
Bilbray actually said something constructive? There was no devisive rhetoric masterminded by the GOP? So B.Bilbray is kind of a public servant after all? Should've done this before. Maybe he'd still be in office?-----------Nah!— June 12, 2013 10:36 a.m.
Can’t keep the Birdman down
2-1 San Antonio, two games left in San Antonio. If last night was any indication of things to come. The largest point difference in finals history, without Tony Parker! Not a San Antonio fan, mind you but damn! Did you see that game last night? Kudos for his success and against all odds achievments. See ya next year!— June 12, 2013 10:26 a.m.
Suspected Spider-Man bandit arrested
Don't you believe it for a minute. Can't you see what's really happening here? Its a simple story line twist! Spidey's going to be a bad guy for a while. Genius! This is something Stan Lee must've had waiting in the wings. Now Spider man isn't only interactive,(he breaks the law, LMPD participates) but he's gone to the dark side and he not only has a sidekick, but he has a female sidekick! I can feel it! It's now, it's happening, it's sheer genius, I tell you. Okay, the Black Widow is taken, hmmm, so is Venom, ooh yeah, I got it! Spider girl,...nah too DC. Okay, how 'bout the Pink Recluse? Six eyed Nancy? Okay, it needs work but, it has potential. Comic-Cons,...now thats good!— June 12, 2013 9:50 a.m.
First Hour at the San Diego County Fair
First, go to the albino dwarf unicorn stall, walk seventy five paces to the pot 'o gold, (you can only find this if you see the leperchaun first) then chase down the thirty five pixies being tormented by the anarchist fairies. Click your heels three times and say, "theres no drink like coke." (this only works if you're wearing slightly faded ruby slippers) If that doesn't work, then as usual, I was led astray by the centuar that lives next door. Sorry— June 11, 2013 9:38 a.m.
Sweetwater board candidate has his sign damaged
So the lines are drawn! On one side black and white and on the other side the many shades of grey. Smoke and mirrors. Explosions and slight of hand. As far as my uneducated eyes can see, people did wrong, people need to be held accountable. All the rest is all subterfuge. People are quite passionate about their personal feelings, understood. Name calling and insults? C'mon man. If you aren't open to other people's opinions then aren't you being a bit obstinate? Is your point of view the only valid one? Isn't that the way the road to tyranny is paved?— June 11, 2013 8:32 a.m.
Border Field State Park gate swings open on regular basis
Is it just me? Or is Mayor Filner a great in your face mayor? I believe I've seen him all over the TV, taking care of business, pissing the fat cats off left and right and just plain upsetting the status quo. I'm pretty sure I've seen more of him since he's been in office than any other mayor we've had...ever! We all know what he's up to and I for one am most happy for what he's already accomplished. He's just getting started people. Whoop, whoop!— June 11, 2013 8:08 a.m.
Two afternoon executions in Tijuana
Had some people over from NJ for the San Gennaro feast last weekend and tried my best to convince them they would have a nice time. Fortunately they weren't kidnapped, shot, raped, beheaded, hung from a bridge....etc. They did however enjoy themselves but, what that #%^& gente? With the mexican president changing the rules on the war on drugs, I guess this is going to ratchet up again. Animals— June 11, 2013 7:58 a.m.
