Does City Attorney Jan Goldsmith have a future in politics?
This failed reporter has received death threats from PETA and Hair Club for Men. Undeterred I continue the investigation only to find Mr Goldsmith now making inquiries on flights to Paris to pursue a chalk artist's training to show empathy and remorse for what has now become (in this deluded reporter's head) the Chalkle Debacle. When attempting to solicit a reaction from his office, countless rodents were witnessed scattering like cockroaches across the well groomed rug that should be back on the City attorney's head much to the chagrin of cockroaches everywhere.— July 18, 2013 11:19 a.m.
Does City Attorney Jan Goldsmith have a future in politics?
Confidential sources claim that since the Chalkle Debacle made infamous by the illustrious city attorney, that he's been seen secretly tearing out hair club ads from magazines and wearing them on his head in a sad attempt to grow hair by osmosis. When attempting to confirm these allegations, this hack wannabe reporter bumped into the city attorney in the men's room as he was furiously adding water to the many sheets of torn glossy ads on his noggin. When offered paper towels to dry his soaked face, Mr Goldsmith snatched them away and affixed the towels to his head creating a paper mache mess. "Just go back to the dead armadillo dude", I suggested. Snatching the paper mess from his head a small hedgehog looked up sleepily from his perch as the city attorney smugly walked away.— July 18, 2013 10:06 a.m.
Shot in the face
Mesa Locos? More like Mesa Estupidos! Its idiots like this that deserve everything they get. The sad side to this is the pain that this person has caused hurts so many people. Victims and their families are just the beginning. He's totally ruined his life, and he's brought more than pain to his family. He's brought shame to all of us Mexicans as usual. Every time a gangbanger does the wrong thing, he makes us look bad. The ignorant racists out there jump at the chance to say, "See, they're all the same! Deport them all!" Enough! Theres more out there than what you see fellas. Look up, broaden your horizons, rise above the madness. Or spend your miserable existence on lockdown, trying to impress your "homeboys" with how down you are as they send you on a mission to prove yourself. Game over vato loco!— July 17, 2013 11:06 a.m.

Burrito Boys thought of taking food to San Diego homeless

National Obama bundler hatching Fletcher for mayor draft
How stupid does this man think all voters are? First a Republican, then an Independent, and now a Democrat? Anyone stupid enough to vote for this man,.... well,..y'know.— July 16, 2013 1:05 p.m.
U-T’s Taylor Baldwin on Filner: “He made me feel cheap”
Okay, this type of behavior doesn't suddenly start happening out of the blue. Predators establish habits that are developed throughout time. A sort of "schtick" if you will. Why haven't we ever heard of this behavior during his tenure as our congressman for all those years? Is there an investigative journalist out there reading this? You wouldn't have to scratch too hard to get to the truth. See if there is in fact a pattern of this behavior. I for one don't think this was handled correctly. When have you ever seen a district attorney hold a press conference and partially present a case before filing charges? If the goal was to infect the prospective juror's pool, well, good job people. I would've voted for Donna in the event of a recall. Now? Lets see what other scum rises to the top.— July 16, 2013 11:39 a.m.
It's a lynching until proven otherwise
Mayor Filner made a visit to Pride yesterday at Balboa park. This is also second hand as I was in a different area at pride when he appeared. The person who relayed this to me went on to say that she had the opportunity to shake his hand. She also stated that he looked exhausted and gaunt. He shook hands and disappeared into the crowd. He was there with a photographer taking snapshots of the obvious photo-op. I see dark days ahead. Man this is depressing. In eight months our Mayor has done alot of good here and he's also pissed of lots of people with deep pockets who are swarming like hornets with the appetite of a pack of hyenas and he is dinner. So, now that his fiancee jumped ship, have the homeless lost an advocate? Should the mayor step down? Will the real Fat Cats pour their money on a sell out candidate if he does? Duh! Talk about an adverserial sytem of government!— July 15, 2013 2:16 p.m.

Deportees kill five in Tijuana
Not to knock on Ed Bedford, (The Tin Fork) 'cause I respect and love to read your stuff being a chef myself. When I read your article I wanted to let you know what really happens down there but I didn't want to leave a bad note on what you wrote. Last week or so you began a review describing you walking across the bridge in Tijuana as you noticed some fires along the river beneath. Not quite a river and not a place any human being should live. The homeless here in San Diego live like kings compared to the desperate situation the Tijuana homeless community has to deal with on a daily basis. Everyday, someone is found dead down there. This is commonplace. The citizens despise them, the press ignores them and yet when found out to be deportees, the U.S. is demonized. Last I checked, Mexico has done nothing to halt this barbarian practice except to criticize it. They pontificate about how we exploit the immigrants, yet the powers that be follow the hallowed tradition of bleeding the country dry to fatten their bank accounts. Fix your economy! Deported or not, these people obviously have no regard or respect for human life. The deaths that these people are suspected of are only brought to our attention to demonstrate the failure of our policy to simply let these people loose once their respective state sentences are served and subsequently, they are deported into Mexico. The homeless cause is one that is close to my heart having been on the street and as usual, being on the verge of homelessness every month. That stretch of cement known as the Rio de Tijuana is the most deadliest place I've ever had the displeasure of walking in. Ask anyone who's been in combat or has had their life on the line about the thousand yard stare. Ive seen it throughout my experiences where survival and good training kick in yet, once because of bad navigation and good tequila, I found myself taking a bad turn and suddenly, I found myself walking the edge of the river just after dusk. Within seconds I was aware of movement all around me and in the blink of an eye, I had three individuals ready to pounce on me, Good reflexes and the fear of God saved me that evening from death. Here's the thing. When I looked into these individual's eyes, I saw nothing. A blank, lifeless emptiness in all three of their eyes that showed no remorse or even a care if they took my backpack or my life. What's the solution? All I know is that the most beautiful cities in the world suffer this dilemma. Its time responsibility is placed where it belongs. On each of us. We have the compassion, we carry love and understanding. We just cant get over our petty issues to help each other. Pointing fingers is so easy. Completing tasks? Well thats another issue,...isn't it?— July 12, 2013 11:59 p.m.
