Ghazal Mansury denies killing 79-year-old mother
Investigators have not revealed all the results of DNA testing ordered, so far. But it was stated that DNA of boyfriend Lucio Moreno was found on one of the clean-up-bottles of bleach, according to testimony. Evidence suggested there was careful cleaning of the downstairs bathroom -- the only clean room in the home, according to many witnesses.

Ghazal Mansury denies killing 79-year-old mother
Yes. It was a long week the family waited, while Mehria was presumed missing and hopefully not worse, and many witnesses reported inappropriate behavior from daughter Ghazal. Cousin Mohammad Salihie said he found Ghazal "jolly" when he showed up at the house on Amulet Street, after he heard that his aunt Mehria had disappeared. "I was pretty surprised" at his cousin's "lack of concern," he told the judge this week.

Surf rage at Swami’s: board used as weapon?
Kern Glaubitz was in court yesterday, February 27, for sentencing. "One of the two victims addressed the court," said prosecutor Matthew Greco. The aggressive surfer was sentenced to 120 days local custody (jail) and 3 years formal probation. And the judge ordered him to stay away from Swami's beach.

Jury: Oceanside man who stabbed mom was insane
On January 27, the judge ordered Adam Brown be committed to State Hospital for a term of 26 years to life. Since the jury’s insanity finding in October 2013, there have been hearings and mental health exams. Last month Judge Harry Elias decided “the defendant had not regained his sanity,” according to prosecutor Patricia Lavermicocca. “He will be committed to the state hospital until his sanity has been restored,” the prosecutor said.

Murder trial delayed for Carlsbad housewife
Thank you, you are correct, she bailed out more than a year after she was taken into custody, in mid-September of 2013. She was booked into custody on August 8 2012.

Fake hitman testified against California rock singer
Tim Lambesis admitted solicitation of murder today, February 25. Speaking softly, in a subdued tone, he confirmed to a judge that he attempted to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife of 8 years, Meghan. In the plea deal, there is no agreed-upon sentence, so Tim Lambesis could get as little as "time already served" plus probation -- or up to nine years in State prison. Tim is now on house arrest. The families of both Tim Lambesis and the assassination target, wife Meghan, are expected to attend the sentencing, set for May 2, before the same judge who took the plea, Honorable Carlos Armour.

Escondido police suspect cousins in robberies
UPDATE: London Hailey Williams, now 22, was never charged with robbery in connection with this case. He is currently out of custody, although records suggest there is an active warrant for him. London Williams was accused of a carjacking in February 2013, in that case he pleaded guilty to stolen vehicle and was sentenced to 3 years probation. Seven months later, Williams admitted a DUI, but then failed to complete a required MADD program. In December 2013, Williams was cited for driving on suspended license, and when he failed to appear in court on February 4, 2014, Honorable Judge Marshall Hockett issued a $25,000 bench warrant for London Hailey Williams. Jamel Lee Garner, 25, is currently held in lieu of $500,000 bail; he pleads not guilty to robbery and other charges, and is next due in court March 19.

Shots fired on the San Pasqual Reservation
Richard Murillo, 33, pleaded guilty to two felonies on January 7, 2014. In the plea deal, Murillo admitted that he “unlawfully committed an assault with a semi-automatic weapon against Tyler Blume” and “unlawfully committed an assault with a dangerous weapon against Angelo Ortega.” In exchange for the plea, two charges of attempted murder were dropped. Murillo expects to be sentenced to 10 years prison on March 4, in San Diego’s North County Superior Courthouse.

Ha! Yes, let's have another from the barber's chair! Maybe Yen can style you like the leading man from your next movie. Or you could get a close shave in the next video commentary? Maybe Yen will have to read the nastygram to you, between razor slices. Fondly, Eva

Jury: registered nurse guilty of abusing autistic man
Kim and Mark Oakley asked a judge for more than $8000 restitution from the man convicted of mishandling their disabled son. Kim Oakley wanted more than $1000 for what she described as “massage therapy” for her severely autistic son; that request was denied. Next Mark Oakley claimed more than $6500 in lost wages, he said he missed work to be in the courthouse. However, Honorable Judge Blaine Bowman checked the calendar and disallowed claimed days that trial was not actually in session, for example Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays. The judge did allow compensation of $408 in lost wages to Mark Oakley. Kim Oakley also requested $179 compensation for a new surveillance camera to be placed in her afflicted son’s room; the judge granted that request. Michael Dale Garritson, 62, was ordered to pay $587 total restitution to the Oakleys at the rate of $25 per month. His attorney stated that Garritson is no longer able to find work and has no income, today, December 20, 2013.

Ghazal Mansury denies killing 79-year-old mother
Investigators have not revealed all the results of DNA testing ordered, so far. But it was stated that DNA of boyfriend Lucio Moreno was found on one of the clean-up-bottles of bleach, according to testimony. Evidence suggested there was careful cleaning of the downstairs bathroom -- the only clean room in the home, according to many witnesses. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/m…— March 6, 2014 5:23 p.m.
"I was pretty surprised" at his cousin's "lack of concern," he told the judge this week. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/m…— March 6, 2014 3:48 p.m.
And the judge ordered him to stay away from Swami's beach. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/f…— February 28, 2014 9:36 a.m.
“He will be committed to the state hospital until his sanity has been restored,” the prosecutor said. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/f…— February 28, 2014 7:18 a.m.
Murder trial delayed for Carlsbad housewife
Thank you, you are correct, she bailed out more than a year after she was taken into custody, in mid-September of 2013. She was booked into custody on August 8 2012. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/f…— February 25, 2014 4:20 p.m.
The families of both Tim Lambesis and the assassination target, wife Meghan, are expected to attend the sentencing, set for May 2, before the same judge who took the plea, Honorable Carlos Armour. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/f…— February 25, 2014 3:07 p.m.
Jamel Lee Garner, 25, is currently held in lieu of $500,000 bail; he pleads not guilty to robbery and other charges, and is next due in court March 19.— February 12, 2014 11:26 a.m.
Murillo expects to be sentenced to 10 years prison on March 4, in San Diego’s North County Superior Courthouse. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/j…— January 11, 2014 1:18 p.m.
Big Screen Christmas Mailbag
Ha! Yes, let's have another from the barber's chair! Maybe Yen can style you like the leading man from your next movie. Or you could get a close shave in the next video commentary? Maybe Yen will have to read the nastygram to you, between razor slices. Fondly, Eva— December 23, 2013 10:49 a.m.
His attorney stated that Garritson is no longer able to find work and has no income, today, December 20, 2013. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/d…— December 20, 2013 3:45 p.m.
