Julie Harper gets another chance
New attorney Gloria Collins filed papers with the court asking the judge to dismiss a $10,000 restitution fine assessed against Julie Harper, and to “strike” the personal-use-of-gun allegation which added 25 years to her sentence. The attorney revealed that Julie Harper earns “between eight and twenty cents an hour” in her prison duties “and that is her only source of money for commissary,” according to her papers filed in support of dismissing fine. Arguing in favor of a reduced sentence, the attorney stated: “Ms. Harper had no prior record before the shooting, not even a traffic ticket.” And, “Relationships are difficult. A wise man described marriage as *bleeding to death from a thousand paper cuts.*” And, while Julie has been incarcerated at the women's facility in Chowchilla California, “Ms. Harper has participated in a variety of therapeutic and self-improvement courses.” And, “The reality is Ms. Harper is not a danger to society.” The attorney remarked that Julie Harper is actually in a hurry: “She is anxious to expedite this re-sentencing.” That is, Julie wants to return to state prison because she cannot get her preferred medications in the local jails; Julie reportedly needs meds that are “anti-inflammatory.”

Julie Harper gets another chance
This past week, on September 19, 2018, convicted murderer Julie Harper got a different, new defense attorney, this one a private hire. Attorney Gloria Collins will now represent Julie Harper at her new sentencing hearing, now set for this coming Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. The parents of Jason Harper are expected to travel from their home in Los Angeles to San Diego's North County Superior courthouse, to speak to the judge before the new sentence is announced. Homer and Lina Harper are raising Jason and Julie Harper’s three children; those children are expected to submit letters to the court, which will be read aloud into the record. Years ago, while she was at liberty between her two murder trials, Julie Harper became pregnant with a baby girl. This 3-year-old child is reportedly being raised by Julie’s elderly father, he is said to be turning 80 soon. Julie Harper’s mother passed away recently. New defense-attorney Collins is expected to request return of jewelry and other items that were seized as evidence, these items were found in a so-called “get-away-bag” that featured prominently during the trials.

The new attorney for Julie Harper filed paperwork with the court this morning, Sept 19 2018, asking to dismiss a $10,000 restitution fine imposed on Julie Harper at her prior sentencing. Julie Harper earns “between eight and twenty cents an hour” in her prison duties “and that is her only source of money for commissary,” attorney Gloria Collins informed the court. The new attorney also asked the court to “strike” the personal-use-of-gun allegation, which added 25 years to Julie's sentence, and affects when she can become eligible for parole. “Ms. Harper had no prior record before the shooting, not even a traffic ticket,” the attorney stated. She also explained the single shot to the husband's heart: “Relationships are difficult. A wise man described marriage as *bleeding to death from a thousand paper cuts.*” The attorney helpfully pointed out that, “Ms. Harper has participated in a variety of therapeutic and self-improvement courses” while incarcerated at the Women’s facility in Chowchilla California. Attorney Collins revealed that Julie Harper is in a hurry to return to State prison because she cannot get the same medications, while she is here in San Diego County local jails waiting for her re-sentencing. Julie needs special “anti-inflammatory” meds for a painful auto-immune condition and “She is anxious to expedite this re-sentencing,” the attorney stated. And, “The reality is Ms. Harper is not a danger to society.”

Thief writes note to self about plans
San Diego Superior Court judge Blaine Bowman spent some time speaking to the six loving family members in court, who were supportive of the young man accused of felony theft. The defendant Christian, only 21, was on misdemeanor probation for petty theft at the time of the new alleged crime -- plus has 2 other misdemeanor arrests.

Picked up 40 bricks in Chula Vista
Visduh, Detective Dang was the one who said he heard the incriminating statements from suspect Carlos Enriquez. The detective said he was trained by the DEA and has been a certified drug recognition expert for 12 years. The detective spoke with Enriquez after the suspect was pulled over by Border Patrol agents on the freeway in North County. This "detective" does not look like police, he has the look of one who works undercover, so this journalist wonders if the defendant knew he was speaking to an officer when he allegedly revealed so much damning information. The defendant had benefit of a Spanish-speaking interpreter during the brief preliminary hearing this week. Enriquez is in custody in lieu of $200,000 bail. Carlos Alberto Enriquez, 39, pleads not-guilty to possession of meth and transporting drugs for sale. Enriquez could face up to 14 years in prison if convicted of all charges, his attorney said. Honorable judge Harry M. Elias ordered Enrique back to court on October 5 to confirm a trial date in San Diego’s North County Superior courthouse in Vista, California.

His best friend and a good girl accused of murder
This case is expected to go to trial this month, with jury selection starting September 24, 2018, before Honorable judge Richard Monroy in the North County Superior courthouse in Vista, California. Co-defendant Sheffah Chevis has reportedly gone “state witness.” She made a plea deal in which she admitted Voluntary Manslaughter. She could get from 6 to 11 years in State prison when she is eventually sentenced. Now-cooperating witness Chevis has reportedly revealed that victim D’Angelo was asleep in the back of her car when Shyrehl Wesley struck him in the head with a ceramic vase. The victim was pleading for his life while he was dragged from the car, and then shot to death, the prosecutor now alleges. A week before the murder, Shyrehl Wesley obtained a gun and said he was going to kill D’Angelo because he was “sneak dissing” him, that is, disrespecting and talking about him behind his back, the prosecutor allegedly learned from his new witness. Prosecutor Keith Watanabe alleges that defendant Shyrehl Wesley is a “gangster rapper from San Diego,” known as Wesside Rehl, and that he is part of the Kutt-Throat gang, which is a Blood subset.

David Herbert was declared guilty on all counts the afternoon of Friday, August 31, 2018. The trial last about 2 weeks. The judge declared Herbert a danger to the community and Herbert was immediately taken into custody, now on a no-bail hold. His sentencing is set for October 1, but Herbert told the judge he no longer wants to act as his own counsel for sentencing, so his actual sentencing might get delayed for a new attorney to become familiar with the case.

Harper is not a danger to society.” The attorney remarked that Julie Harper is actually in a hurry: “She is anxious to expedite this re-sentencing.” That is, Julie wants to return to state prison because she cannot get her preferred medications in the local jails; Julie reportedly needs meds that are “anti-inflammatory.”— September 21, 2018 11:35 a.m.
New defense-attorney Collins is expected to request return of jewelry and other items that were seized as evidence, these items were found in a so-called “get-away-bag” that featured prominently during the trials.— September 21, 2018 11:22 a.m.

Harper is not a danger to society.”— September 19, 2018 1:15 p.m.

Thief writes note to self about plans
Prosecutor David Knauss vigorously argued against defense's motion to reduce the charge to misdemeanor. Judge Bowman declined to reduce.— September 19, 2018 11:57 a.m.
Thief writes note to self about plans
San Diego Superior Court judge Blaine Bowman spent some time speaking to the six loving family members in court, who were supportive of the young man accused of felony theft. The defendant Christian, only 21, was on misdemeanor probation for petty theft at the time of the new alleged crime -- plus has 2 other misdemeanor arrests.— September 19, 2018 5:21 a.m.
Elias ordered Enrique back to court on October 5 to confirm a trial date in San Diego’s North County Superior courthouse in Vista, California.— September 12, 2018 7:47 a.m.
Prosecutor Keith Watanabe alleges that defendant Shyrehl Wesley is a “gangster rapper from San Diego,” known as Wesside Rehl, and that he is part of the Kutt-Throat gang, which is a Blood subset.— September 10, 2018 3:25 p.m.

David Herbert was declared guilty on all counts the afternoon of Friday, August 31, 2018. The trial last about 2 weeks. The judge declared Herbert a danger to the community and Herbert was immediately taken into custody, now on a no-bail hold. His sentencing is set for October 1, but Herbert told the judge he no longer wants to act as his own counsel for sentencing, so his actual sentencing might get delayed for a new attorney to become familiar with the case.— August 31, 2018 2:06 p.m.
