Parolee runs over motorcycle cop in Oceanside
At a hearing this morning, June 28, 2021, defendant Roberto Flores complained about his defense attorney. He also wants his case dismissed because he has not gotten a speedy (new) trial during the COVID scare, this will be argued in two weeks, on July 12, before Honorable judge Carlos Armour. Prosecutor Keith Watanabe predicts that jury selection for the new trial will begin on August 2, 2021.

Conviction of Army & Navy headmaster for child abuse is overturned – updated 12-6-21
Jeffrey S. Barton, 63, is on calendar to be in the Vista courthouse in North County San Diego on Monday, June 28, at 9:30 a.m. in Department 5. During this hearing, his tentative trial date in September could be confirmed, or a new trial date could be chosen. Superior courthouses in the County are now seeing prisoners in person, and it is expected that the defendant will be produced in the courtroom at that time.

29 years in jail for failed attempt to kill O’side cop
Roberto Flores wanted to use the defense strategy of denying that he was driving that car. His defense attorney preferred the defense strategy that Roberto did not INTENTIONALLY strike the cop with his car. The appeals court wants to give Roberto the chance to present his own strategy of defense, even if it appears hopeless to his attorney. You know I am para-phrasing here.

29 years in jail for failed attempt to kill O’side cop
Roberto Ignacio Flores, 30, appeared in San Diego’s North County Superior courthouse in Vista today, June 23, 2021. He continues trying to act as his own attorney, while defense attorney John Wilschke is assisting by filing motions for example. Flores asked the judge to dismiss his case, because he did not get a “speedy trial” during the COVID lockdown. Jury selection was set to begin August 2, although Flores tried to reject that date. Honorable judge Carlos Armour will hear Roberto Flores argue his own motions in the Vista courthouse at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2021.

Vista child grabber gets four years prison
Alan Ray Sasseen, now 63, appeared briefly in court today June 22, 2021. He appeared well fed, visibly plumper, and pale. Today Sasseen had more hair, and his long hair seemed more under control than when he was photographed in court in 2019. The preliminary hearings for his two new cases were delayed three weeks, until July 14. Prosecutor David Jarman will present evidence and Julia Jara will defend Sasseen, who pleads not-guilty.

You know I am para-phrasing here.— June 23, 2021 4:08 p.m.
