Ex-Sanders aide gets $6,000 a month for Balboa Park centennial role
We requested them via a Public Records Act request and they City has not provided a useful response. We are continuing to pursue.— February 14, 2013 10:40 a.m.

Residents oppose moving large scale events like Earth Day to Balboa Park's West Mesa
I forgot to add - they are planning to move December Nights off to the west while the heart of the park is reserved for the special few.— January 23, 2013 12:40 p.m.
Residents oppose moving large scale events like Earth Day to Balboa Park's West Mesa
The PRIDE is mainly about the Parade, less the beer garden with tables afterward, with is about 1/3 the size of Earth Day. Holding Earth Day on the west side would be a new event. You cannot do what we do in the Central Mesa on the west side. The issues with load-in for exhibitors and volunteers are formidable. Also, the neighbors were not consulted and now opposed it. Finally, there is no valid reason to move. We are no threat to construction! There is no construction scheduled on Sundays! They are simply throwing events out of the heart of the park because they don't want them there and determined to now work with anyone to have them there - except for the Centennial Corporation and the "museums and restaurants." This is a decision pushing all public special events out for the NEXT THREE YEARS - and with no public hearing. Finally, no one needs permits to assemble in a public park. What they are then doing is squashing them financially.— January 23, 2013 12:38 p.m.
Dog owners and non-motor boats battle over Mission Bay
We could bring out our service dogs who work with the disabled 24/7 but why is that even factor? Is it incorrect that FIDO has not compromised. We have agreed to losing lots of space on the rest of Fiesta Island. There is room for the paddlers in many other locations yet they have refused to discuss rationally yet want taxpayers to subsidize at the most expensive location where existing users have no other place to go! What's UP with that? FIDO even offered to help prepare any plan amendments that might be required at any other locations. Yet the paddlers' response has literally been to sneer and refuse to even discuss. What's up with THAT? So far, they appear wanting more to fight than compromise all the while accusing FIDO of this - incorrectly. Why don't they sit down to discuss?— February 6, 2009 9:29 a.m.
