Many Jobs Are More Dangerous Than Police, Firefighting
Adding my two cents for the farmers and ranchers. I was a horse shoer for a few years and nothing can kill you as fast as a kick to the head. I have been bitten, stomped, kicked, dragged, smashed, and slammed. That was the easy part of the job.— February 16, 2011 6:36 a.m.
Do the Freddie
Poor choices, love it.— February 11, 2011 4:40 p.m.
Local, Raw, Honey in La Mesa?
I have found local raw honey and I am innoculating myself in fun and healthy ways. I've been baking my own whole wheat pizza crust from scratch and I'm going to use the honey in the pizza crust. I bought a blender and I've been juicing and making raw juice and yogurt slushies. They are fabulous.I will now add the honey. I'm so excited. I'm so tired of sneezing and dripping. Let the innoculation begin! Thank you, all who provided feedback. I appreciate your encouragement.— February 11, 2011 4:30 p.m.
Local, Raw, Honey in La Mesa?

Local, Raw, Honey in La Mesa?
I got a tip and I'm on the hunt.— January 28, 2011 1:34 a.m.
Letters
Well said Doreen. What is about the phrase, "share the road," that drivers of autos do not understand. Maybe when gasoline is over five dollars a gallon and these automobile drivers are searching for alternative transportation and buy a bicycle or motorcycle they will understand the word empathy.— January 27, 2011 12:04 p.m.
Mans Best Friend
The cat I had for eighteen years came to me when a little boy said, "Cat lady if you don't take this cat my Dad say's I have to kill it." Eighteen years later she died in my arms. If you live long enough, you receive redemption.— January 26, 2011 5:19 p.m.
Happy Thanksgiving From The Crazy On The Corner In La Mesa
I have replaced my air horn with a bullhorn. I have a new sense of power over my fate. I can be heard in traffic at the crosswalks. I've been told I sound like a cop. So if you are in La Mesa, and you hear a voice telling you to "stop for crosswalk cripples" you may be hearing my voice.— January 24, 2011 12:32 p.m.
How old were you when you had your first drink?
My Dad took me to the bar with him when I was a toddler. I would sit at the bar eating pickled eggs and hot sausage. He would sprinkle salt over his beer and I would sip from his glass. This was in Iuka, Mississippi 1962. Today that behavior on the part of my Dad would not be tolerated.— January 9, 2011 12:41 p.m.
Illegal Street Vending Crackdown in City Heights
SO what else is new. The assault on the poor has been happening all my life(I'm fifty something). It wasn't until I reached poverty that I felt the persecution so accutely. Each day I go out into the world confined to a PMV and it seems that my powers of invisibility are just as strong as ever.— January 9, 2011 11:20 a.m.
