Earth Day 2011 or How I learned to love the IRS
Glory days indeed. I too am glad I traveled and saw all the places I dreamed about as a child.— April 23, 2011 12:13 a.m.
Earth Day 2011 or How I learned to love the IRS
Railsplitter, U dodged a big old bullet. Sounds like a cool trip though.— April 22, 2011 9:15 p.m.
Earth Day 2011 or How I learned to love the IRS
Hey Nan, it's funny, I remember nuclear bomb drills, where we got under our desks. Now, when I see nuclear bomb blasts on the History Channel, I realize how childlike our collective thinking was at the time. We've grown into a cynical bunch. At least I have.— April 22, 2011 9:13 p.m.
Earth Day 2011 or How I learned to love the IRS
Hey Railsplitter, I lived in a trailer, in Tornado Alley as a youth. I couldn't wait to grow up and get out of the south. I am wondering if Easter Sunday will see an aftershock of the Easter quake of the year before last. Don't we live in interesting times?— April 22, 2011 11:11 a.m.
Local, Raw, Honey in La Mesa?
Hey CarGuy I found exactly what I needed from the La Mesa Farmers Market which meets every Friday rain or shine. Papa Louie's Raw Unfiltered Wildflower Honey from the back yards of our neighbors in El Cajon. I am now consuming my second jar and I can breath again, my chest is clearing, and almost all the itching is gone. Thanks for the tip though, that himalayan sea salt sounds interesting.— March 11, 2011 1:50 a.m.
Bad Drugs, Bad Policy, Bad Government In San Diego
I love the ole money trail. I especially love those money trails which lead to big holes in the ground, like new stadiums and new libraries. Thanks for commenting.— March 11, 2011 1 a.m.
San Diego’s Feral Cat Coalition outsmarts the average stray
Beautiful article addressing many issues in a balanced straight forward way. I have been labeled cat lady a few times in my life while trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats who went on to become great mousers and more than paid their debt.— February 26, 2011 5:14 p.m.
Neighborhood Watch Among Topics at La Mesa Town Hall Meeting
"Unfunded pension liability," was the phrase that got through my self-involved internal dialog. Why should I care about someone else's retirement problems? After all, I'm 52 years old in a few days, drawing SSI and Social Security disability for chronic mental illness compounded by physical disability. I admire those people who have had the ability to get up for thirty years and do the same thing every day. Those people who have the emotional stability, the physical strength, and the ability to maintain stable personal relationships and stable professional relationships for their entire lives. After all, isn't that what a pension is all about? After thirty years of stability and service you are rewarded. If I had been able to secure these qualities and do these things, expecting my reward, I too, would be angry.— February 18, 2011 11:42 a.m.
Many Jobs Are More Dangerous Than Police, Firefighting
My choice to go to horseshoeing school was an economic one. At eighty dollars every six to eight weeks calling the horseshoer like calling the veterinarian becomes very expensive. I began to shoe my own horses and soon had a business shoeing for my friends and neighbors.— February 16, 2011 12:22 p.m.
It’s Hard to Change Direction When You Are Falling Off A Cliff
Your patience astounds me. Your love for the car shines through. Your wife's patience is even more astounding. You are fortunate to have a passion that is not thwarted by the people in your life.— February 16, 2011 6:59 a.m.
