Who's Bad -- Not this Michael Jackson Tribute Band
First, apparently this tribute band is going to do a show in Vegas, this GeoffTy75 revived this thread, either through the search function or Google search, in order to plug his tribute band. Second, please don't misquote me. I said, pretend, not pretention. If it is incorrect to say that you didn't really believe Board was coming back merely because a comment appeared on a long dead thread, as evidenced by the date on the thread post and comments, then I sincerely apologize. I had thought you could not fail to see the pretense but I take your word that you did not. Third, honest kindheartedness is a gift most people can appreciate. I wonder if you can explain how it is kindhearted to attribute meanspiritedness toward Josh in my remarks where none were expressed? Where did I say anything at all about my "need for him to be shunned completely out of existence... second chances be damned"? In fact, you are quite mistaken on this point. But there is no reason to continue this discussion. I will take my own advice and let this thread die, hopefully quickly and mercifully.— May 20, 2010 5:01 p.m.
Who's Bad -- Not this Michael Jackson Tribute Band
This is obviously some huckster for that tribute band, if not one of the band members, trying to drum up business. I had hoped no one would respond on here and let the thread die, guess I had hoped for too much. Clearly Board coming back isn't happening, nan, so why are you pretending that it is? I don't get why no one respects Reader admin's decisions. Does anyone think they take them lightly? I'd say they take action in more than due time. Board is long gone. Way past time to move on.— May 20, 2010 1:34 p.m.
Reality Bites
Truly surprised this didn't get a black ball. The script is dreck where it isn't banal. Ben Stiller is the absolute worst. Wynona Ryder is godawful. Everybody else squeaks by. I have the soundtrack. :)— May 20, 2010 3:23 a.m.

Voice of Frankie
Gloria Penner may just be a vestige of old style talk show journalism. I can't ever remember her asking a really hard question of her "guests." VoSD may or may not have a Republican-donor-rich board, but their journalists are first rate and fair-minded, IMHO. No one beats them in terms of covering the school board and education politics, they and CityBeat do an excellent job covering my community's issues. I can't remember the last time I read a good story in the Reader that focused on any issues to do with Southeastern San Diego. VoSD does one nearly every day. CityBeat did a kicka$$ issue last week or week before on the Arizona situation. Nothing in the Reader has touched on that story, except for here and there.— May 19, 2010 8 p.m.
Juke and Jive
"After facing the first batter, a young man jumped over the right-field wall and ran onto the field." Wow, that's quite a trick.— May 19, 2010 7:01 p.m.
