Not as intense as my response, apparently.— July 10, 2010 11:11 a.m.

I wasn't looking, russl, nan was, she may be interested in pursuing what I write all over the site, I doubt if too many others are. Admin, those of us who blog on the Neighborhood blogs have been allowed to add pretty much whatever content we choose -- it has been within our discretion to start topics we think are of general interest to readers. I had a thread posted here, Simple Food, which spoke of cooking, and which a number of people added recipes to in the comment section. Simple Standards was a follow-up on that thread. I added a recipe into the content of the post to give an example of what I was writing about, and solicited more recipes such as the ones posted in the Simple Foods thread. The other one, about Adam Lambert, I had posted a thread about Adam Lambert before, it was not removed. Again, this flimsy excuse that I mentioned him coming to San Diego, well really, that was my excuse for posting a thread about Adam when in actuality I only wanted to post the video. The third blog post pulled, On Winning the Reader Blog Contest, let's be honest. It wasn't abusive or harassing. Anyway, I already responded to that in my followup thread, General Announcement. :)— July 10, 2010 10:31 a.m.

I wish you all, especially you, a2z, would talk more about SEDC. Although I must say, you would be talking about the past. Carolyn Smith is gone, and most of the people who were at the agency are gone. The new interim president, Brian Trotier, was brought in specifically to clean house and was told that he could not bid for the job when it came time to hire the new President, and I believe that hiring is coming up soon. Trotier has not been loved by the Council or the City, which tells me he may have been a good person to keep at the helm of the SEDC. Trotier also hired a very progressive planner, Nancy Lytle (her daughter graduated out of UCSD in Middle Eastern studies, wants to go and help the Palestinians, as I recall), who is a Chula Vista native and seems to know what the real mission of redevelopment is, or was meant to be -- I think we all forget what redevelopment was meant to do, due to the way it has been misused and abused. I must say, anyone could have known what would happen to SEDC re Smith as long as it stayed in Stevens' area. And what it might become if it comes into Dells Imperial. Another intachable, an untouchable special interest group. Depends on a lot of factors.— July 10, 2010 9:49 a.m.

The threads were moved by Reader admin, nan -- I have no idea why, and frankly, I am not going to worry my head over what they do, since clearly what they do makes no sense. russl, did you really have to drag that old thread out of the dead zone? My Lord, I'd rather read MsG's pulled thread, or mine, or my Adam Lambert thread -- hint, hint -- than go over that old thing again.— July 10, 2010 1:22 a.m.

No Titanic theme song, but if you hear the theme from Jaws, watch your toesies, you never know if and/or when the sharks will show up again. ;)— July 9, 2010 7:12 p.m.

One of the best shows on television, "Hoarding: Buried Alive." That show drives me nuts. So motivates me to clean house.— July 9, 2010 4:58 p.m.

True, MsG. I like most animals, but prefer cats because they are generally companionable, independent, easy to house and care for; since I have four, they keep each other company when I am not home. I can hold them in my lap or arms; they feel lovely, warm and soft. I like their sounds, from purring to meowing. And they do funny things that make me laugh. :)— July 9, 2010 4:35 p.m.
