This ain't no shell game, Kilroy
I liked that whole area a lot better when I could ride my dirt bike there and no one was around but my friends.— February 3, 2015 11:11 p.m.

Gunman gets 100 years in prison — "overly harsh"?
Society would be better served with swift execution. Anyone who vows to steamline the processing of death row will get my vote.— January 31, 2015 9:14 a.m.
No trolley in my backyard
Where was the protest when they built UTC, The Gilman Drive mess, extended Genesee, and Highways 52 and 805? Cities grow, get over it or move out like I did. The University is on public land and paid for with tax money; they should have no say in the matter. How about a little more research on the story, who is funding "Friends of Rose Canyon"?— January 31, 2015 9:10 a.m.
Trouble ahead? Trouble behind!
The little train that thought it could, never will. Unlike the railroads in the game "Monopoly", this one isn't even on the board. It is an unprofitable sideline with too much overhead and infrastructure to ever be competitive.Better off using part of it for passenger light rail from the City to the border.— January 30, 2015 10:47 a.m.
Where the football fanatics live
Having grown up watching the Padres play badly on a field with wooden bleachers, seeing the only winning local teams of the time (the Gulls and the Rockets) sold off, and the Chargers lose consistently, I thank them for influencing me to pursue other interests. Sports has become the opiate of the masses. It is better to let the addicts pay for it rather than the taxpayers.— January 29, 2015 11:02 a.m.
Faulconer guru enmeshed in stadium food fight
Sort of on topic, the San Diego Big 3 swap meet (Feb 20-22) has been stimulating the economy and needs of car guys for 48 years and sells out at the Stadium. Two years ago the management decided to stop them from allowing food vendors, and brought in their own with increased prices. That was rude. Who gets the money?— January 21, 2015 7:41 p.m.
She fell off a ski lift, sues for damages
A lawyer once told me that waivers were not worth the paper they were printed on. Still, people assume some great mommy is reponsible for protecting them from any possibility. My first question regarded the "hanging lifelessly" bit. What actually happened? Did the bar not get pulled down? Did she trip while loading? Was she impaired or having a seizure when she attempted to get on, or paralized by fear? Was the chair height, speed, and ramp condition within the acceptable parameters? Innocent victim of incompetence, or did she mess up and expects other to pay for it? I have hurt myself skiing a few times, but I know it was my fault and accept the consequences of my actions.— December 21, 2014 10 a.m.
Casino to Jamul: Drop Dead
It's time to end this racism and allow anyone, not only corporations in "partnership" with tribes, to open a casino. Or, shut the whole thing down, lottery included. Lets put gambling back where it belongs, Nevada..— December 21, 2014 9:47 a.m.
She fell off a ski lift, sues for damages
I live near a ski bowl, and the lift operators aren't the sharpest employees on the hill. Still, you sign the waiver and are expected to have some basic skill when outside of the beginner's areas. While waivers are commonly ignored by lawyers, it does show that the person acknowledges a certain degree of responsability and risk in the activity.— December 18, 2014 9:32 p.m.
