“John McCann and Ed Brand should resign”
Ensenadamaria, here it is! 1 of 2.

Guilty Trustees (is not, unfortunately, a band name)
Here is another example that shows a complete lack of leadership by Ed Brand. Hilltop High used
jupiter.com
to email parents about supporting Mary Salas for Mayor. Read the attached story in San Diego Rostra. How will Ed Brand respond to this? Little man McCann provided his self serving comments. Empty words as he has had 4 years to act but has done nothing but support Brand in his hair brained schemes.

School officials Gandara and Sandoval plead guilty
Visduh that is great news. Let's not forget that John McCann is directly responsible for allowing him to get this pension. Although McCann is not indicted he certainly is complicit in the problems with our district. Those of us in Chula Vista need to make sure he does not get elected to city council or re elected as a trustee.

School officials Gandara and Sandoval plead guilty
That first contractor is one that went to the DA also during their investigation. He reported that Gandera called him to solicit a $20,000 campaign donation to Jim Cartmill. That contractor is currently in litigation with the district. Interesting if any more of these details will come out.

Drywall company kicked off $6 million job
Why did the general contractor even accept this bid? It is my understanding that bids need to have a few basic prequalifications such as license, insurance, bond, etc. Someone dropped the ball here!

Standardized tests shunned by South Bay parents
I would like to add a devils advocate perspective. Please bear in mind I have 2 children, one in 7th and the other in 10th, and one that just graduated high school a semester early. I have been intimately involved in all 3 of my childrens education, from a classroom helper, to PTA, to School Site Council, district committees and volunteer activities. From kinder through high school. I also own a professional services business and have hired many young, high school graduates from our community and school district to work for me. Also, I am not for or against common core at this point. Like all of you, I am a concerned parent, community member and tax payer. Just my perspective ... Our education system is broken and is failing our children. Many are not prepared for college, much less have basic skills to get a decent job. Why is that? There are many theories, thoughts, and conspiracies as to why. My simple view is that our education system teaches kids in a box. Our education system as it is now was created in the 1930s or early 1940s. It is what made our Country the best, most advanced and powerful in world history. It was perfect for the era and times. As our society changed with advanced technology, more diversity, more complexity, more immediate needs, shorter attention spans, etc, etc., our education system, save a few minor adjustments, plugged along. Just about every other industry in our country changed to meet needs and demands, in order to survive. Again, education did not. Now with a world market, the weaknesses of our education system are clearly seen. We cannot compete with many other industrialzed countries in education. We have to import workers for many of our industries. Too many of our youth dont have the skills to compete for jobs that pay decent living wages. So, what are we to do? The status quo, which for the most part has failed? Or change? I am for change! Although education is not a for profit industry, its basic needs are no different than any other business or industry. That basic need is money! And in order for our education system to succeed, produce graduates that have basic skills, and be competitive in the world market, it must change! And it needs money to achieve the change. Our children will be tested to get into college, during college, for employment, for grad school, vocational school, professional designations, and throughout life. I feel bad that tests make kids nervous, harms their self esteem and makes them sick. But, life is full of tests to help them succeed. I am not an expert in education, so I dont know the answers. What I do know is that change is needed, money is needed, and testing is needed. The hows and whys can be left to experts to figure out.

School officials Gandara and Sandoval plead guilty

The above is the link to Our Hometown Magazine. Page 23 is the ad being referenced. Look at page 26 also as Ed Brand has an op ed piece.

TJ cops threatening to tourism?
Ponzi, don't forget the inherited tendency of officers like Chris Hays who, last time I checked, was nowhere near Mexican. These American scum cops need to be weeded out. Sounds pretty idiotic doesnt it? How about we just keep race and/or national origin out of it. Arevalos is as American as you and I.

School officials Gandara and Sandoval plead guilty
Here is the ad anniej references. Who is John McCann kidding! He was responsible for giving the felon Gandera a $400,000 buy out and allowed him to remain long enough to qualify for his pension. Our community is paying for that! He brought Ed Brand back! He has supported Brands reign of terror through his votes as Trustee. He has remained silent on the lack of transparency in the district and board. He has voted for fiscally irresponsible items. He has remained silent as teachers, parents and community members are disrespected. He filed a restraining order as a Trustee against a parent, which he lost in court. He called the police on a community member during a board meeting. He had his attorney send me a threatening cease and desist letter and threatened to sue me! Is this someone we want as a council member? I say no!! Get the word out. John McCann is bad for chula Vista and Sweetwater! **NO to John McCann for City Council! No to John McCann for Sweetwater Trustee! No to John McCann for elected office!**
http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/a…

Sweetwater district teachers vote on strike
Two important issues on Monday night's agenda. Both are in closed session. Ed Brand will finally, after 1.5 years, get his performance evaluation. Also, the trustees will vote to spend $15 to $20 million on new district offices. If you want to voice your opinions on these two items, email the board:
[email protected]
,
[email protected]
,
[email protected]
,
[email protected]
. I know we have absolutely no faith in a majority of the trustees - two of them are buffoons. I will let you guess which two. But lets still reach out to them.

“John McCann and Ed Brand should resign”
Ensenadamaria, here it is! 1 of 2. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/m…— May 8, 2014 6:30 a.m.
Guilty Trustees (is not, unfortunately, a band name)
Here is another example that shows a complete lack of leadership by Ed Brand. Hilltop High used jupiter.com to email parents about supporting Mary Salas for Mayor. Read the attached story in San Diego Rostra. How will Ed Brand respond to this? Little man McCann provided his self serving comments. Empty words as he has had 4 years to act but has done nothing but support Brand in his hair brained schemes. http://sdrostra.com/?p=38025— April 30, 2014 3:09 p.m.
School officials Gandara and Sandoval plead guilty
Visduh that is great news. Let's not forget that John McCann is directly responsible for allowing him to get this pension. Although McCann is not indicted he certainly is complicit in the problems with our district. Those of us in Chula Vista need to make sure he does not get elected to city council or re elected as a trustee.— April 13, 2014 8:58 p.m.
School officials Gandara and Sandoval plead guilty
That first contractor is one that went to the DA also during their investigation. He reported that Gandera called him to solicit a $20,000 campaign donation to Jim Cartmill. That contractor is currently in litigation with the district. Interesting if any more of these details will come out.— April 13, 2014 8:51 p.m.
Drywall company kicked off $6 million job
Why did the general contractor even accept this bid? It is my understanding that bids need to have a few basic prequalifications such as license, insurance, bond, etc. Someone dropped the ball here!— April 12, 2014 10:56 a.m.
The hows and whys can be left to experts to figure out.— April 10, 2014 5:41 p.m.

Arevalos is as American as you and I.— April 9, 2014 6:35 a.m.
No to John McCann for elected office!** http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2014/a…— April 8, 2014 10:48 p.m.
Sweetwater district teachers vote on strike
Two important issues on Monday night's agenda. Both are in closed session. Ed Brand will finally, after 1.5 years, get his performance evaluation. Also, the trustees will vote to spend $15 to $20 million on new district offices. If you want to voice your opinions on these two items, email the board: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]. I know we have absolutely no faith in a majority of the trustees - two of them are buffoons. I will let you guess which two. But lets still reach out to them.— March 14, 2014 3:44 p.m.
