San Diego's redevelopment pigs want back at the trough
[link text][1] The Virtual Globetrotters put up images of Doug Manchester's Indian Wells estate. See link above. Papa Doug's certainly living high off the hog. [1]: http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/doug-manchest…— April 1, 2012 9:15 p.m.
San Diego's redevelopment pigs want back at the trough
Attorney General Kamala Harris should send warning letters to the CCDC Board Members advising them that they will be indicted on fraud charges if they attempt to back date contracts in order to create obligations. I am also concerned that there have been no layoffs at the CCDC. The headcount needs to be cut without delay, before the City starts having to fund CCDC salaries out of the general fund.— March 30, 2012 9:34 a.m.
April Public Meeting to Focus Only on 2007 Fires
I sent a letter to Jimbo Holman canceling my subscription to the Reader. I demand a refund.— March 23, 2012 9:14 p.m.
San Diego Tourism Remains Weak
The City is overrun by drunks. Tourists go to Pacific Beach and see dozens of partygoers on their knees vomiting on the sidewalk. The beaches are filled with drunks and meth addicts. Tourists walking the boardwalk are barraged by marijuana smoke, panhandlers, and gangs. San Diego has become a freak show, not a tourist destination. Tourists no longer want to patronize hotels in Mission Valley because the valley is massively overbuilt and paved in concrete. Tourists are avoiding San Diego like the plague. On the weekends foreign TV bureaus in Los Angeles send crews to San Diego to record the fights and the drunken behavior in the beach areas, North Park, and the Gaslamp. San Diego is known throughout the world has a haven for drunks and meth addicts. The City is in terminal decay and headed toward entropic collapse. In order to save the city and the tourist industry, it is imperative that the bars in Pacific Beach and the Gaslamp be sharply curtained in number.— March 22, 2012 8:25 p.m.
April Public Meeting to Focus Only on 2007 Fires
The new Reader format is a step backwards, in my opinion.— March 22, 2012 8:05 p.m.
Navarro's Documentary to Debut
There's no real evidence that Silberman tried to kill himself by swallowing his dog's prescrition medicine. His purported suicide attempt appears to have been little more than a stunt to obtain a lesser prison sentence. It looks like Silberman is 82 years old. http://articles.latimes.com/1990-09-22/local/me-4…— March 17, 2012 12:05 a.m.
Ex-El Centro School Superintendent Admits Fraud
It looks like Klentschy is collecting pension checks from two different school districts. When he gets out of prison he will have health insurance and a good monthly income. He won't wind up living under a bridge, or have to wash dishes to support himself. He's set for life. http://www.laserscienceevents.si.edu/faculty/MKle…— March 12, 2012 11:20 p.m.
Ex-El Centro School Superintendent Admits Fraud
He'll be sentenced to Club Fed. Once at the Club, he will start jogging, lifting weights, and lose 40 pounds. His stint in prison will add at least 10 years to his life, and he will not pay a dime of restitution.— March 12, 2012 10:05 p.m.
This Time, Lochmiller Gets 33 Years
It is as if these "senior citizens" are a huge flock of sheep just milling around out there, waiting for the scammers to come along and shear them. Another way to ask it is, how did so many people get so much wealth who were so dumb? ========= Many of the elderly are starving because they cannot obtain a decent yield on their certificates of deposit. They are desperate to obtain higher yields so they can eat, heat their homes, and pay for their healthcare. Out of financial desperation they invest their money with scum like Lochmiller. There are plenty like him. There are probably a dozen Lochmillers operating in San Diego right now, perhaps on a lesser scale. DA Bonnie Dumanis does nothing to try to stop these scamsters until the interest checks start to bounce and the scam becomes public. By then it is too late.— March 11, 2012 10:55 p.m.
This Time, Lochmiller Gets 33 Years
Lochmiller ought to have the decency to kill himself after what he's done.— March 11, 2012 10:07 p.m.
