EDCO Faces $112,000 Fine Over Crushed Worker
The cost of the fines is probably less than the cost of safety improvements.— July 3, 2012 10:58 p.m.
UT Bringing in VP of Sports
Maybe Lynch should hire Van Gorden Sauter to run the newspaper. Van has a solid background in print journalism and was President of CBS News. Van helped Larry Tisch trim a lot of fat from the CBS payroll and he could do the same for Lynch. Under Van's leadership CBS went from being the Tiffany network to the 99 Cent Store network.— July 2, 2012 11:07 p.m.
UT Bringing in VP of Sports
Spending a reported $3 million on the TV studio does not appear to be a smart move. The TV studio will probably be shuttered in six months after Manchester and Lynch realize that there's no audience for its product.— July 2, 2012 11 p.m.
Creation of a Monster, John Gardner
I doubt that Rother wrote the book to cash in on a tragedy. There's no money in writing a book like this. Rother's books sell for under $10. She might sell 10,000 copies if she's lucky. If she was interested in money her time would likely be better spent working full time as a reporter rather than researching and writing crime books.— June 30, 2012 12:17 a.m.
SDSU Study: $330K Gender Pay Gap in PR Work
Public relations should not be taught at SDSU, nor should SDSU hire "public relations" professors. Public relations has no place in a college curriculum.— June 29, 2012 10:28 p.m.
No on Dead Men Walking: Ex-Con Millionaire Staging Celebrity Bash Against Capital Punishment
Lerach and Jacobs are probably still sore about the execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg for selling A bomb secrets to Uncle Joe Stalin.— June 28, 2012 11:18 p.m.
New Bill in Congress Would Thwart Bridgepoint
There's talk around town that the F Street Bookstore chain has offered Sanders a position as Director of Loss Prevention.— June 26, 2012 11:52 p.m.
New Bill in Congress Would Thwart Bridgepoint
Fletcher has to find a corporation to give him a job in the interim before his next political campaign. If Romney wins, there's a good chance Fletcher will receive a patronage position in the federal government. Maybe Romney will appoint him to a dime a dozen under secretary position at the Pentagon. Jerry Sanders might go to Washington if Romney wins. I'm sure his wife Rana could obtain a low level appointment in the Department of Justice. I don't know what Jerry could do.— June 23, 2012 10:46 p.m.
Picasso, Pistol and Porsche Stolen from Posh Place
The Picasso print can be purchased on-line for $64.99. See link below. Where are they coming up with $5,000 for a Picasso print? Picasso was a no talent dead beat. http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Girl-with-Red-Beret…— June 14, 2012 5:52 p.m.
UCAN to Fight Another SDGE Program to Fleece Customers
Sempra probably wants to profit from float: the delay between the date the customer makes a deposit to the household account and the date the bill is debited to the account. By forcing ratepayers to pay their bills in advance, Sempra could accumulate a $300 million or more permanent float and use it to invest in the stock market or loan money to credit card companies. This is a scheme for Sempra to obtain interest free money from ratepayers to invest in derivatives or other financial products.— June 12, 2012 6:23 p.m.
