Home Depot Workers Allege Wage Theft
I posted a link to a YouTube video only. I did not post the video on YouTube. How do you know this is not a Home Depot video? In any event the shelving at Home Depot is inherently dangerous and should be banned.— July 25, 2012 7:51 a.m.
Home Depot Workers Allege Wage Theft
I am afraid to shop at Home Depot. I worry about getting hit in the head by a falling pallet, or being killed if the shelving collapses. As seen in the YouTube below, the shelving is very flimsy and poorly designed. If a single vertical or horizontal support fails, the entire shelving structure collapses. The use of such shelving in stores like Home Depot and Costco should be outlawed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAsZ3PQoL5k— July 24, 2012 10:18 p.m.

Did President Nixon help finance part of San Diego?
I suspect that Romney will not release his tax returns because he can't admit that he did not pay income taxes on his fortune. As an example, Romney disclosed that he has $100 million in his IRA. If Romney had contributed every year to his IRA starting in 1975 when IRAs began, he would have contributed about $100,000 in total. He can't explain how he turned $100,000 into $100 million of untaxed capital appreciation. Did Uncle Sam wink and look the other way and let Romney slide on his taxes, while demanding the full measure from the rest of us? Is Romney behind the move in Congress to exempt IRAs from the estate tax? If so, he would never pay a dime in taxes, nor would his estate, on the profits from his sleazy deals.— July 23, 2012 8:13 p.m.
Vigilance of SDPD Volunteer Patrol Officers Due to Tiff?
Dave should sue the neighbor who made the false complaints and put a stop to the harassment. He should be compensated for being put through the wringer. Dave should be commended for trying to save that old Ford truck from the junkyard.— July 20, 2012 11:56 p.m.
Did President Nixon help finance part of San Diego?
This no yarn. It was documented in the 1970s that Nixon took bribes and that Rebozo was his bagman. Howard Hughes paid a $100,000 bribe to Nixon for his help in forcing regulators to approve his takeover of Airwest. Rebozo took the cash on behalf on Nixon. Nixon also took a $1 million cash bribe from the milk producers to lift federal price controls on milk. Rebozo put the cash in a safe deposit box in Mexico City. The money was later used to pay off E. Howard Hunt, who agreed to take the fall for Watergate if his wife received $1 million. The scheme fell apart when Hunt's wife was killed in a plane crash and her suitcases were found stuffed with $100 bills. While President Eisenhower also took money from large corporations seeking favors. He built his large "farm" at Gettysburg with "gifts" from large corporations. One of his brothers moved into a suite at the Waldorf Astoria, and lived there for years, refusing to pay for lodging or meals.— July 20, 2012 3:48 p.m.

Qualcomm Expectations Disappoint, but Stock Rises After Hours
Qualcomm announced in February that it was under investigation by the SEC and the U.S. Attorney for alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. It is reported that a whistleblower within Qualcomm alleges that the company made illegal payoffs overseas for business advantage. The Reader reported that Erwin Mark Jacobs recently contributed $2 million to the President’s reelection campaign through an intermediary. I feel that is it is improper for Jacobs to give the President money when his company faces potential criminal and civil charges. The President should not accept contributions from the majority shareholder of a corporation that’s facing serious charges.— July 19, 2012 7:17 a.m.
Bridgepoint: Huge Profits, but Possibly No Future
Some investors think Bridgepoint is a good investment even though it could go out of business. One columnist thinks Bridgepoint is a good speculative bet because he thinks it will satisfy the accreditors and has cash and investments of $7.80 a share. I think the columnist is wrong: If Bridgepoint satisfies the accreditors it won't make money. http://seekingalpha.com/article/719701-why-i-boug…— July 15, 2012 11:54 p.m.
Irwin Jacobs and Jerry Sanders: Billionaires and bullies create a false picture of public support for Plaza de Panama
Irwin Jacobs recently donated $2 million to the President's reelection campaign. Qualcomm is currently under investigation for accusations of bribery and payoffs in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. I suspect the investigation will be dropped shortly.— July 15, 2012 11:41 p.m.
