Local law school has one of worst employment records
It makes sense for the State Contractor's Licensing Board to require all plumbers to have law degrees and to prosecute unlicensed plumbers working without law degrees. If law graduates could obtain jobs as plumbers, by forcing non-law school graduates out of the trade, then most of them could repay their student loans. Jefferson should make all law students complete vocational training courses in plumbing so they have a skill to fall back on after graduation. No guy in India is ever going to fix a toilet in the U.S.— October 17, 2012 6:30 p.m.

Former cop back in court, the good and the bad
Koch is probably collecting a pension despite his conviction. He probably put in his retirement papers the day after he was arrested.— October 13, 2012 8:56 p.m.

U-T and Port: Bring in the Clowns
The City faces a $2.8 billion pension deficit it can't pay. The San Diego City Schools want to float another $2.8 billion in bonds. Now Manchester and Lynch want the city to borrow $8 billion to convert the 10th Avenue Terminal into an entertainment complex. I don't see how the city's tax base can service this staggering amount of debt. These lunatics need to be stopped before they strip the city bare.— October 11, 2012 9:05 p.m.
San Diego inches closer to abolishing bicycle licensing law
The City Council was not aware of the registration law because they are not San Diegans. The City Council is comprised of carpetbaggers who came here from Slobsville to line their pockets at San Diego's expense.— October 10, 2012 10:58 p.m.
San Diego inches closer to abolishing bicycle licensing law
The license fee is only $1. The license requirement was enacted to deter bicycle theft. The SDPD records the owner's name and the serial number of the bike in a database. Without licensing there's no way to identify or return stolen bikes to their owners. All bikes should be licensed and those riding unlicensed bikes should be ticketed. My bike was stolen and the Police were able to return it to me because it was licensed. If this law was enforced bike theft would decline dramatically. Thieves would be unable to register stolen bikes or resell them. Thieves would not want to ride stolen bikes for fear of being stopped by the Police. Bike theft is big business in San Diego. This is a good law that should be enforced.— October 10, 2012 10:40 p.m.

UCAN Demands Shames Return $474,000 in Bonuses
If Shames thinks he going to be indicted, then he might be better off leaving the U.S. for Israel where there's no extradition treaty. If he's convicted there won't be anything left for him in the U.S. When he leaves prison he will face the prospect of paying large fines and restitution with a $12 an hour job. If he's facing indictment, he needs to make some hard decisions before the ax falls.— October 3, 2012 7:31 p.m.
