The fix may be in on Pio Pico power plant
Natural gas is extremely cheap right now and in oversupply. Warren Buffet lost $1 billion of Berkshire's money on natural gas. Sempra has access to cheap natural gas in Mexico. It's probably more profitable for Sempra to generate electricity with natural gas than it is to buy it from other suppliers at market rates. Especially since the ratepayers are paying for the plants.— February 19, 2013 7:41 p.m.
Former Marines charged for false travel, lodging claims
These two Marines are rotten to the Corps.— February 19, 2013 7:25 p.m.
San Diego city council surrenders in costly Catholic school case
OLP is located in University Heights. Boundary St is the dividing line between Normal Heights and University Heights University Heights boundaries are Highway 163 (395) on the West, Boundary Street on the East, and University Avenue on the South. North Park ends at University Avenue and never crosses it. I have original maps to prove it. It may be that developers have reasons to rebrand University Heights into North Park, but legally OLP is in University Heights regardless of what the developers want the City to call the area. The area should retain its historic and correct name.— February 18, 2013 2:35 p.m.
San Diego city council surrenders in costly Catholic school case
At this point the city should use its power of eminent domain to seize the school site, save the historic buildings, and bulldoze the rest. Turn the site into a miniature Balboa Park. OLP is only for the wealthy. That land should be a public park.— February 17, 2013 12:07 p.m.
Clairemont Mesa's spooky windowless, signless, addressless building
The CEO of AT&T Wireless stores his wine collection and stash of pre-embargo Cohibas at this building.— February 16, 2013 11:46 p.m.
Gambling hypocrisy: Padres protested wagering facility near Petco
It would have made more sense to locate the off track betting facility at Sycuan, where the gamblers are. The Petco area is a virtual ghost town. Gamblers aren't going to want to fork over $20 a day to park downtown.— February 16, 2013 11:38 a.m.
Massachusetts nails LPL Financial
I hope the tenor doesn't wind up like Pavarotti, choking to death on a Big Mac.— February 15, 2013 12:56 p.m.
Foundation at heart of O'Connor scandal was big donor to San Diego police; John Burton Foundation
She should be in prison and she should die in prison.— February 15, 2013 12:20 p.m.
"Mayor Mo" stole $2 million from late husband's foundation
I don't think Hedgecock's income is based on ratings or advertising revenue. His show is being bankrolled by wingnuts who use radio to pursue a political agenda. I'm sure they pay him well for his services.— February 14, 2013 9:54 p.m.
Lawyer Stocker disbarred over child pornography
It looks like Stocker was a partner in Baker & McKenzie. His punishment appears to be a tad light compared to what other criminals have received for identical crimes. http://www.zoominfo.com/#!search/profile/person?p…— February 13, 2013 11:15 p.m.
