Territorial tax? Qualcomm is in the middle of storm
Jacobs can claim that Qualcomm earns most of its money offshore, but it is not true. Qualcomm manufactures chips in foreign countries that are sold to foreign vendors who manufacture cell phones and other devices that are sold in the U.S. The fact is, most of the products Qualcomm manufactures and sells overseas wind up being resold as completed products in the U.S.— June 28, 2013 6:35 p.m.

Is "Enron by the Sea" tag apt again?
Goldsmith is a jackleg lawyer. Goldsmith apparently believes that Mayor Filner cannot break wind without his let. Goldsmith should sit back, shut up, go to sleep, and collect his paycheck like John Witt did. Witt never said anything, rocked the boat, or caused any problems.— June 20, 2013 9:10 p.m.
Manchester hotel to break ground in Austin in November
Dad always said if you want a job half-done send your son. Papa Doug has sent his 30 year old son to Austin to build a $350 million hotel. I hope Dad was wrong for Papa Doug's sake.— June 15, 2013 11:26 a.m.
For-profit colleges exploit African-Americans
Many in the investment community are acting as if they expect Bridgepoint stock to go up soon. Hedge funds are buying Bridgepoint at depressed prices. I think Congress is going to change the law soon and allow student loan debtors to file bankruptcy and walk on their loans. If that happens, Bridgepoint stock is going to zoom. I think the hedge funds know the law will change, and may even orchestrate the change behind the scenes in Congress in order to make their profit.— June 15, 2013 11:21 a.m.

Clairemont residents fight against zoning amendment needed for popular fast-food burger joint 173-feet from nearby homes
In-In-Out is a malignant business that brings out the worst in people. I refuse to eat there any more because of the things I have witnessed. Large numbers of extremely angry drivers circling the parking lot in a rampage because they can't find parking because of the crowding, lacking the maturity to simply leave and eat somewhere else. One time I saw Joe Six Pack in a rage stop his car in the entrance to an In-N-Out parking lot, blocking the entrance while he went in to order his food. Another time, I saw a driver frustrated by a long line at the drive through roll up his windows and lay on the horn until he received his food. I have also seen a tractor trailer truck pull into a parking lot and take out 15 parking spaces. In-N-Out needs to install horizontal steel bars at the entrances to prevent trucks from entering, and stop encouraging truck drivers to eat there. What tore it for me was the parking situation at the local In-N-Out at lunch time. I would go there and find 10 UPS trucks taking up the entire lot while frustrated customers were leaving in droves because they could not find parking. IN-N-OUT: GET RID OF THE TRUCKS AND RAISE YOUR PRICES TO CUT DOWN ON THE CROWDS! YOUR STORES ARE NOT EQUIPPED TO HANDLE THE LARGE CROWDS YOUR LOW PRICES ATTRACT.— June 8, 2013 7:20 p.m.
Enterprise zones a flop, says new study
"Don't buy into this right-wing, conservative and racist claptrap put out by those who have been duped into believing they lost their 401K because of illegal immigrants." I was not aware that Alan Greenspan, Angelo Mozillo, Lloyd Blankfein, and Jamie Dimon are illegals. Thanks for alerting me.— June 6, 2013 11:23 p.m.
