Indian company Infosys to pay record immigration fine
Pa Jacobs has donated tens of millions to build up the engineering program at UCSD. He has contributed so much dough the engineering school is named after him. For all intents and purposes, it appears that he runs the engineering program. Despite Pa's financial commitment and oversight, Qualcomm appears to hire few if any UCSD graduates. Qualcomm also appears to hire very few white males, except at the executive level. I want Pa to explain why Qualcomm shuns graduates from an engineering program he bankrolls. Are UCSD students, most of whom come from wealthy families, lazy or incapable of working long hours? Does he fear loading the payroll with white pot heads and drug addicts?— November 1, 2013 2:58 p.m.
UCSD conceals Fletcher's reason for graduating five years late
This explains why Fletcher left the Marines as a Staff Sergeant instead of an officer: he couldn't qualify for officer because he lacked a college degree. It's likely that he tried to become an officer without a college degree, but couldn't pass the Marine I.Q. test. He probably has poor grades and low SAT scores. Faulconer's probably in the same boat.— October 30, 2013 12:03 a.m.
Speeding Prius crashes cars in La Jolla
Someone died at the scene. The images show a blanket covering a body. I hope the driver who caused this senseless accident is prosecuted to the full extent of the law and receives the maximum sentence. This is tantamount to murder.— October 23, 2013 8:28 p.m.
Poway man sues Apple
It's very difficult to sue a large corporation in small claims court. Large corporations have dozens of subsidiaries. You have to know the name of the subsidiary that actually sold the phone to the retailer. The subsidiary may be located offshore. The same thing happened when the victims tried to sue BBG communications. The BBG sub that provides phone service to the US is in Switzerland. The judge said the U.S.victims should have filed the lawsuit in Switzerland, not the U.S. Menacher's lawsuit will likely be thrown out by the judge.— October 20, 2013 5:37 p.m.
Alliant University's San Diego campus could be sold
dwbat: If you're anal about accuracy, then you need to see a doctor who can give your brain an enema. You're full of it. If Bauder wants any $#@t out of you, he'll squeeze your head.— October 18, 2013 1:31 p.m.
City attorney Goldsmith boasted how he worked on Filner ouster for 8 months
When Kamala Harris was DA in San Francisco she looked the other way while Gavin Newsom became involved with and was photographed drinking in bars with underage girls. Harris became sexually involved with an elderly man in order to benefit her career. She obtained a BMW and positions on state boards as Willie Brown's paramour. Harris likely undertook Filner's prosecution with the expectation she would find a new source of political funds to bankroll her political career. She obviously lacks scruples.— October 18, 2013 11:13 a.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
Kamala Harris was Willie Brown's mistress when he ran the California state legislature. Harris was 26 and Brown was 60. Brown appointed Harris to two state boards that paid substantial salaries and he bought her a BMW. Harris owes her success in life to striking good looks. She did what she had to do to get ahead and stand in the short line. Harris and Filner swim in the same cesspool.— October 15, 2013 7:52 p.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
It appears that Filner pleaded guilty to crimes he did not commit to protect his family. He probably wants to leave some money to his children. Many CEOs in San Diego do what Filner did on a daily basis and are not prosecuted. If women complain, the company pays hush money to protect the CEO.— October 15, 2013 2:13 p.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
The real question is whether Filner's guilty plea will require him to register as a sex offender.— October 15, 2013 12:16 p.m.
Justice at last? Scripps snakebit in Florida
It might be better for Papa Doug's bottom line if he embraces Nate Fletcher as San Diego's next mayor. With all the vendors and engineers traveling for business meetings at Qualcomm headquarters, Paul Jacobs could fill all the empty hotel rooms at the Del Mar Grand if he was inclined to. Papa Doug needs to wake up and help Nate Fletcher and himself.— October 14, 2013 11:59 a.m.
