Balls in Bowls

Hi, Lindsey! Yes, that was in 2007, and it wasn't a column, it was an extensive cover feature, so an "update" by way of column isn't something I had in mind. I will tell you that after losing 100 pounds, I have been yo-yoing up and down the same 20-30 lbs. over the last 4 years, but have kept more than 60% of the lost weight off the entire time. Maintaining weight-loss is WORK, especially for someone whose life involves endless cocktail and dinner parties (wink), but I currently jog 3 to 4 days a week and lift weights daily, try to eat well (as a foodie, "well" means sourced-locally and varied more than low-cal), and live life reasonably. When I want to go gung-ho again and seriously lose the excess, I have to do what Charlie the trainer had me do for the two years I was on that rigorous plan that led to the big lose, and that's a little more work than I'm prepared to do right now. So I continue to focus on my HEALTH, as I mentioned in that story, rather than my WEIGHT. I hope that satisfies your curiosity. :)

Letters

"I think she should probably mind her business and let them do their work." I love this... the whole point of my not wanting to be bothered by people with clipboards is because I'm minding my own business and going about my day, and they are interrupting me, uninvited. "Their work" is to intercept me on the way from the store to my car and promote their cause. Even when I agree with the cause, I am annoyed by the person. I will not support such irritations, not even with a signature.

Stupid Chick's Lucky

Stupid Chick Update: Stupid Chick, with the help of a local ambulance chaser, is attempting to milk my insurance company for money for her "soft tissue" injuries. Read: the bruises she sustained from falling off her bike when she broke the law and collided, gently, with the hood of my car. Irritating as this is (I knew she was riding in the ambulance in hope of a payday, as did the paramedics who rolled their eyes at her), it doesn't seem like my insurance rates will go up. Everyone involved knows what's up. I can't wait to vote for a good measure on tort reform. That's what I get for having extensive insurance: System Leeches.

Ah, here I must disagree with you, refried. A craft brew beer can be just as unique and complex as a fine wine. And Tactical Nuclear Penguin (which costs $100 for a small, limited edition bottle of the brew), is most certainly esoteric. For "snotty and elitist" brewers, one must look no farther than the makers of Arrogant Bastard ale. ;)

Haha! Well said. Now that you mention it, there are two people that fit your description that come to mind. One female, one male, both batsh*t and lacking in the emotional maturity department. I'll work with our admins to get to the bottom of it. The more I learn, the more I'm understanding that this is indeed a personal hack job on behalf of an obsessed lunatic. Someone MsGrant and I OWN, because anyone who spends that much time and energy trolling and bashing clearly belongs heart, mind, and soul to the subject of sick infatuation. Now let's see if the psycho can resist hacking into someone's account to respond to MY comment. Irritating, but also funny and sad, if you think about it.
