New sewer lines or new stadium fro San Diego? Your choice.
Interesting you bring up hemlock Don, being a fan of Socrates I have often wondered what he would do if he came back today to see what has happened to the world since BC Athens, and he has even more reason to drink the hemlock today because all of our institutions have failed to honor truth and morality. Today, Republicans are like terrorists attacking people who practice the Golden Rule, much worse than oligarchs and sophists in his day.— January 19, 2015 1:40 p.m.
Public relations — er, utilities commission chief speaks
Thanks again Don, the biggest question remains, why did Brown appoint Picker when he has no qualifications to be President of the CPUC at all? One has to wonder if Brown has been Governor for far too long and has lost his ability to lead California anymore when he just keeps making the CPUC and utilities threats to the people of California. Brown shares as much responsibility for the San Bruno deaths as Peevey and PG&E and we reelected him anyway because there was no acceptable candidate running against him. Brown and both political parties have definitely lead California into the Fall phase of our Decline and Fall while the drought just keeps getting worse without any leadership.— January 16, 2015 12:38 p.m.
Mayor Faulconer's folly
Obviously Fabiani is ordering their MayorPuppet to shut up, do what he has been ordered to do and build the stadium immediately, threatening to do to him what they did to Filner. If Faulconer doesn't tell them to go to hell and take their stadium with them today, after Fabiani's threats yesterday, it will prove beyond all doubt that Faulconer really must be kicked out of office immediately for betraying the people of San Diego.— January 16, 2015 12:07 p.m.
New sewer lines or new stadium fro San Diego? Your choice.
Thanks Don, that explains that some things never change, as you keep telling us, and why our newest Mayor is just another puppet to those like Manchester. So we get a new stadium instead of new sewer lines and infrastructure fixes. The republicans hate to spend money on infrastructure across the U.S. so never drive on a bridge while travelling in the U.S. and don't drink the water in San Diego.— January 16, 2015 3:03 a.m.
New sewer lines or new stadium fro San Diego? Your choice.
Don: obviously I've been out of touch for awhile, I didn't know the Burnham deal was that serious. Does Malin like chariots, does he really give a damn about San Diego instead of continuing to bankrupt us for a football stadium? Does the deal include control over the City Council with his own Pontius Pilate throne room to view the games while removed from the masses like Pope Doug? After far too many decades of corrupt U-T publishers, can we trust any owner who will really fight for We The People and future generations?— January 15, 2015 12:20 p.m.
New sewer lines or new stadium fro San Diego? Your choice.
Indeed Don, "New sewer lines or new stadium?" is the greatest question so far in this new century.. The non-existent Balboa Park 2015 Centennial Celebration is a perfect example of the total failure of San Diego government in the 21st century, nothing is happening except that our Puppet-Mayor just promised a new stadium and to hell with public safety and infrastructure. It is now apparent, especially because of your continuously excellent investigative reporting Don, that what Pope Doug demands is a statue of himself (bigger than El-Cid) roaring around Balboa Park on a Ben-Hur Chariot every hour with trumpets blasting our eardrums to proclaim his total control over San Diego and We The People can go to hell thrown under his chariot wheels.— January 15, 2015 4:19 a.m.
Balderdash and poppycock
Don, "little people --- wee folk" may be what politicians and bureaucrats have created to replace We The People considering the fact that less than 50% even bothered to vote at all. Democracy is dead while Oligarchs and False Prophets rule, until climate changes and worldwide violence destroy our future completely.— November 26, 2014 2:33 p.m.
Balderdash and poppycock
Don, you have now convinced me beyond all doubt that Jerry Brown is as corrupt as Peevey. Not really a surprise anymore since all three of us graduated from Berkeley about the same time, and I know from experience that the Board of Regents and UC administrators are just as corrupt as the CPUC. These old white guys are drowning California in the same cesspool they live in.— November 26, 2014 12:19 p.m.
Sorry, soldier
Don, the greatest tragedy is that both republicans and democrats in Washington have betrayed those who risked their lives and bodies to protect American Democracy and the American Way of Life for far too many decades. What we are really learning most of all from last week's election is that it really doesn't matter who won because all of the politicians in Washington have failed to protect American Democracy and the American Way of Life because of their imperious culture of greed and corruption. No wonder the majority of We The People refuse to vote, it's really a revolution against Washington and they haven't figured it out yet.— November 10, 2014 12:25 p.m.
Wall Street probably expected worse
Don, this brings up the paramount question, how can professors teach us to protect humanity from greed and corruption when they themselves are greedy and corrupt? The ultimate reality is that the future of our civilization is in increasingly grave jeopardy because leaders in every institution around the world give highest priority to greed and corruption. So we can expect no solutions to out of control global warming and violence around the world in time to protect future generations from the destructive consequences of our leadership culture of greed and corruption. The election tomorrow could very well seal our fate because public, private, for-profit, religious, whatever education systems have failed to teach us how to protect our future.— November 3, 2014 11:23 a.m.
