Something sinister in Warsaw?
Don, hopefully they'll be able to share a jail cell and pray together for the people they killed in San Bruno and threatened with radiation in Orange County as a result of their hellaciously felonious corruption.— April 13, 2015 3:31 a.m.
Something sinister in Warsaw?
danfogel, thanks for the clarification. I no longer have any respect for the Berkeley establishment. They have totally failed to learn from the lessons of history by creating a welfare program where professors and administrators are constantly proving themselves to be detached from the mundane needs of humanity and more attached to immediate profitability. If Socrates came back today, he would see that we still fail at truth and morality and probably ask for another cup of hemlock. But I am most thankful that I met and married my most wonderful classmate, life doesn't get any better than that.— April 12, 2015 11:10 a.m.

Don, what we keep proving is that while humans have the best brains of any animal on the planet, we are the dumbest thinkers. On Big Bang Theory, Leslie Winkle says it best when she keeps calling Sheldon Cooper a "Dumbass."— April 12, 2015 3:11 a.m.

danfogel, for what it's worth, Wiki says Brown got his B.A. at Berkeley in 1961. I was there at the same time, the world has changed most incredibly since then, and we are leaving the worst possible legacy for our newest generations because we failed to protect the long-term future of the planet for them. We had the best education, opportunities and lives in history, but we allowed our political, intellectual and economic leaders to plunder paradise in California, and around the world, enabling global warming, violence and inequalities that are now completely out of control. Brown, Peevey and Berkeley are worst case examples of what went wrong.— April 11, 2015 2:12 p.m.

Don, I no longer believe in democrats or republicans, they both enable themselves to kill with impunity, including innocent people and Democracy. Interesting that Brown and Peevey are 1961 Berkeley graduates, so it is no surprise that Berkeley has failed the people of California by creating a welfare program where professors and administrators are constantly proving themselves to be detached from the mundane needs of humanity and more attached to immediate profitability. It is no longer possible to tell the difference between politicians and university intellectuals.— April 11, 2015 11:43 a.m.
Something sinister in Warsaw?
Don, your excellent investigative reporting proves that Peevey, Pickett and Brown must be arrested for gross criminal negligence including threats to public safety and the California economy. San Onofre came far too close to being California's Fukushima, can you imagine having to shut down I5 and the area around SONGS? When you add this to Peevey and PG&E's gas pipeline murders, the out of control CPUC and California state government must be totally overhauled.— April 11, 2015 4 a.m.
Nuke waste volleyball
Welcome back Don, but excuse my skepticism. Everybody in Sacramento who was supposed to be "wise to what has been going on" has totally failed to do anything about it for decades, allowing utilities to crash and burn California. Is anyone speaking out for the dead in San Bruno, is anyone speaking out for those in the San Onofre area who are about to find out what the Japanese are suffering in the Fukushima area. These folks cannot be trusted until Peevey, Brown and utility execs are in jail and the utilities are made to pass the costs of murderous greed on to the investors at last. And yes, both the republicans and democrats are totally responsible for the Decline and Fall failure of American Democracy we are experiencing today. God help future generations because our generations have destroyed their long-term future quality of life.— March 24, 2015 11:28 a.m.
Nuke waste volleyball
First they cause gas pipeline deaths in San Bruno, now they are increasing nuclear radiation at San Onofre, is there no one in Sacramento who cares enough to end these out of control threats to public safety and the California economy? The CPUC is a disastrous failure.— March 24, 2015 3:32 a.m.
The economy in shock
Don, we can blame Jerry Brown for this never-ending outrage, he looked the other way while his best buddy Peevey got away with murder, literally, and other gross criminal acts. If Peevey doesn't go to jail, it will prove beyond all doubt that there is no justice in California to protect consumers from out of control criminals in politics.— March 21, 2015 3:23 a.m.
As San Diego's economy hollows...
Don, as your excellent investigative reporting keeps documenting, America's Finest City died when Oligarch Manchester took over the U-T, the failed Balboa Park Centennial is the most obvious testament of the Decline and Fall of San Diego caused by Pope Doug. Manchester keeps proving that he is dedicated to magnifying his personal wealth and power regardless of increasingly disastrous consequences to the people and future of San Diego. What San Diego's Founders created, Manchester is destroying as his worst case "Paradise Plundered" scenario of Greed continues.— February 16, 2015 3:09 a.m.
