Downtown San Diego's Plaza Hotel goes; homeless parking proposed on Mission Bay
In a perfect world people who worked would have a living wage and benefits. As it is the employers rely on welfare programs to make up for the wages and benefits they would otherwise have to pay. The Republicans want to cut medicare/medicaid/social security while keeping minimum wage low and supporting the Walmart economy.— March 20, 2019 8:07 a.m.
North San Diego County GOP survivors: Chris Rodriguez, John Franklin, Rocky Chavez
If the Republicans had there way all hourly employees would be paid the minimum wage with no benefits. They only want a two class society: The rich and the poor. They do not place any value on people who work by the hour doing the hard work required to make life good for the rest of us. They abhor the fact that a worker should be able to retire. Republicans only represent the wealthy and the employer and could care less about the average citizen. I have never met a Republican that was not mean. Republicans bible is Walmart.— March 17, 2019 7:15 a.m.

San Diego city council members have distinct goals for city money
" city employees who quit now outnumber those lost to retirement" You an thank Mayor Sanders for this problem. Sanders and his minions destroyed the pensions for new City employees. The average retirement of a City hourly worker is $26k a year. We only hear about the over paid department heads that retire on inflated pensions. Why would a skilled hourly worker stay with San Diego who pays less than other cities and offers lower benefits and then has a pension plan (no Social Security) that will not pay well enough to retire on. When you treat people poorly then they will move on and the only ones left are the under performers. Many people hire on in San Diego, get experience and then transfer to another city. That city then reaps the advantages of San Diego training the employee for them.— March 17, 2019 7:10 a.m.

KFMB's Elisabeth Kimmel caught in Georgetown admission bribe
The only way a student should be able to gain access to college is by taking a test. Who you are, how well you play a sport, or any other criteria should not matter. If a college has, say, 100 openings the college should accept the top 100 scores. There is no doubt that this scandal runs deeper than it appears. Corruption always starts at the top.— March 14, 2019 8 a.m.

Kellen Winslow goes after 18-year-old after school, 77-year-old at Crunch Fitness
Say good by to the good life Kellen. You had it made but now will spend the rest of your worthless life in prison. I am sure that a prison gang will be glad to have you as a member and other prison gang members will want to "make their bones" with you. Your father must be sad that he gave you his name.— March 8, 2019 4:37 p.m.
