Todd Gloria gets money from 101 Ash
Barbara Bre is a terrible candidate. She is anti-worker. But, and it is a big but, Todd Gloria needs to be defeated because he promoted and voted for the single worst real estate deal in San Diego history.— October 7, 2020 7:30 a.m.
The 101 Ash Street morass
Everyone involved in the purchase of this building should be fired and prosecuted. All politicians who voted for this purchase should be recalled. The first course taught in Real Estate School is Due Diligence. A brand new real estate agent would not even touch a property like that. SDG&E sure found some gullible suckers. Another prime example of why not to live in San Diego.— October 7, 2020 7:26 a.m.
Gerry Braun gives to boss Mara Elliott
Looks like the usual suspects behind the political scenes.— October 5, 2020 5:24 p.m.
Local teacher defends his profession
Teachers like the police are expected to solve every societal problem. Teachers not only have to put up with the demands and expectations of parents they have to deal with administrators who, for the most part, get in the way of teaching. When I was going through grades 1-12 all the emphasis was on going to college. No one told me that I could make a good living with my hands. Because teachers all went to college that was all they knew. I went to college, because I was expected to, and I hated it. I quit and never looked back. I went to work doing the things I liked and became good at what I did. I learned the things I needed to to be successful. I retired at 55 with a good income, a paid for home and money in the bank. Education is important, not just college education, but all education. I don't see that anything has changed. Teachers and the useless administrators and corrupt education boards (Spring Valley Union School District come to mind) pay attention to only two groups: Those heading for college and Jocks. The rest are left to their own devices. Schools have cut almost all programs except sports. The teachers I remember are the ones that taught me pratical things that I would need in life. I have never needed to use Algebra— September 20, 2020 7:56 a.m.
A lot of taco trucks in Chula Vista
Great Idea! Oh, what about those brick and mortar stores? You know the ones that pay the taxes and have payroll.— September 20, 2020 7:42 a.m.
Chalk talk for Chief David Nisleit
All police should be evenly divided between all sections of the City. No area should get more or less service than any other area. Limit the kinds of calls that police respond to. Shoplifting should be Civil. Let the store owners provide their own security. Quality of life issues should be addressed by other City departments. Let the police respond only to serious calls where there are injuries, death and or weapons involved. Leave the mentally ill to Father Joe's etc.— September 20, 2020 7:40 a.m.
More sex harassment history behind Todd Gloria’s Capitol campaign cash
The one and only reason to vote for anyone but Todd Gloria is that Gloria voted to buy the SDG&E building. He and the City Attorney and everyone else who pushed this fraud through should be arrested and charged. They all belong in jail. I learned in the first week of Real Estate School that you must do due diligence. Anyone with more than a single digit IQ would never buy an asbestos filled building "as is" and pay more than the appraised value for it. I knew politicians were arrogant and stupid but San Diego has always had more than their fair share.— September 20, 2020 7:35 a.m.
Nature joins antifa, burns large swaths of California in protest
The Readers has gone off the rails. What a stupid article. For the less than brilliant it would seem that Antifa started the fires.— September 20, 2020 7:07 a.m.
Dumanis, spouse, and San Diego cop union back L.A. District Attorney Jackie Lacey
Who in San Diego cares who is the top prosecutor in LA? Who cares who Dumanis supports?— September 6, 2020 7:33 a.m.
Imagine a pedestrian-friendly Kearny Mesa
That makes us old.— August 18, 2020 7:33 a.m.
