San Ysidro border detectors missing fentanyl
Let the Fentanyl flow. The more druggies that die the better. If there were more Fentanyl deaths maybe people would think twice about doing drugs. Taking heroin, meth, coke and oxy is a choice that one makes. For those who were prescribed Oxy and became addicted the drug companies should pay for treatment. Treatment should be available for those who want to change their lives. The rest? Let them die. Good riddance.— October 17, 2019 7:37 a.m.

There has to be tow company operators that do not have a criminal history. This felon should never be allowed to participate in the police tow rotation list. Further he should not be allowed to operate in the city limits of El Cajon.— October 16, 2019 7:03 a.m.
Signs of Comic-Con's demise?
I think Comic Con is in more danger of outgrowing the convention center. San Diego leaders, past and present, have always thought small.— October 14, 2019 6:59 a.m.
Lhooq Books shocked by lease loss
The thing about the latest "fast food look" is that if one of them fails another can move in and just change the sign. You can't tell a new Jack from Mac from Star. They must use the same architect, the one that designs boxes for moving companies.— October 13, 2019 7:06 a.m.
How Saudi Arabia affects San Diego gas prices
That makes you and I older than dirt. Remember the gas wars? Used to drive to Escondido to get gas at 16 cents. (Ah the 60's)— October 10, 2019 7:57 a.m.

Sara Jacobs vows to take no PAC money
Is grandpa a PAC?— October 10, 2019 7:53 a.m.
How Saudi Arabia affects San Diego gas prices
All San Diego County gas comes from the Mission Valley Tank Farm. Gas is shipped to San Diego via a pipeline. There is no difference in gas from brand to brand except the price. I know because I used to deliver gas to various service stations. I would fill my tanker truck and deliver it to Brand A station then return to the same loading bay and take the same product to Brand B station. Chevron is and has always been the highest price way back to the Standard days. Back in the 60's some stations (Hudson Gas) did ship poor grade gas from Texas to their stations but those days are long gone. The gas sold at Ehernberg AZ (just across the border from Blythe) comes from California. People who pay for "branded" gas (Chevron, Shell, etc.) are paying for hype and advertisement. Boycott all name brand stations and go to Costco, Arco or an independent.— October 9, 2019 8:17 a.m.

This is a common occurrence where a company (property) is passed to the next generation and greed rules. No renter should ever bet on the largess of their landlord. Small businesses renting low cost space in older buildings should have a plan B. With what land is going for you can bet that at some point the property will be sold and you will be on the street.— October 9, 2019 8:08 a.m.
