San Diego's worst white collar crime these days
If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Beware of friendly people who want you to invest in anything.— May 9, 2021 7:34 a.m.
Mira Mesa imagines walking to work
In reality very few people can actually walk to work. Most employment in walkable distance from ones home is not the kind of employment that pays high wages. The kinds of jobs that pay above a living wage are located in areas where housing is not a walkable distance away. I think many people would like to walk, bike or take mass transit to work but San Diego and outlying cities were not designed for that. Mass transit takes a long time and few can actually walk to work from the trolley/bus stop. Envisioning is one thing reality is another.— April 2, 2021 7:45 a.m.
Exec’s talk fuels more rumors of Union-Tribune's doom
I think that the UT will soon be relegated to the dust bin of history.— April 2, 2021 7:39 a.m.
Does it feel as if San Diego crime is down?
Percentages mean nothing unless the numbers are attached. I remember a headline in a local paper that screamed "Murder rate doubles" and "Murders rate is up 100%" in actuality there was one murder the year before and two murders the following year thus the headlines. A 10% increase or decrease means nothing unless you know the underlying numbers. Also the numbers and percentages are based on reported crimes. Many crimes go unreported especially property crimes.— April 2, 2021 7:35 a.m.
Exec’s talk fuels more rumors of Union-Tribune's doom
The San Diego Union is nothing more that L A Times South edition. I live in a small condo complex. When I moved in almost everyone got a newspaper. Now only two people get a newspaper. Both are elderly.— March 30, 2021 7:25 a.m.
As San Diego county dodged minimum wage, elderly suffered
Once again the taxpayer is left holding the bag. First they have to support the bloated bureaucracy they must support the welfare that these workers qualify for.— March 20, 2021 8:19 a.m.
There goes the Oceanside beach
Follow the money and you will see who owns and operates the politicians.— March 14, 2021 10:28 a.m.
There goes the Oceanside beach
It appears to me that the other pictures were taken at low tide and the rip-rap photo was taken at high tide.— March 14, 2021 10:23 a.m.
Inside gay killer Andrew Cunanan: Bishop's School, older friends, Gay Pride parade
It does a disservice to Cunanan's victims to even acknowledge his existence. He is not representative of the gay community. He is dead and than is good.— March 14, 2021 10:17 a.m.
Barbara Bry's husband hangs up on reporter
If you look up the word ugly you will find a picture of Barbara along with Summer.— February 26, 2021 9:51 a.m.
