Wow! Sounds like quite the event, wish you could have snapped a few pictures.— July 14, 2008 8:33 a.m.
Janis Joplin's Final San Diego Show 7-11-70, plus 50 More Historic Local Concerts: 1917 - 2005
Hey really enjoyed your post. If you someday round your list out to the top 51 the Wynton Marsalis Concert with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra last Tuesday night was a historic evening. Check out my blog post about it, or perhaps you were there!— July 13, 2008 5:29 p.m.
King of Documentaries
If you get a chance check out the documentary "Black Sun" by Hughes de Montalembert. The story of an artist attacked in his NY apartment, blinded in the attack, it's his journey through life and his new way of seeing. The movie is written, directed and largely filmed, by Hughes after the attack, a movie filmed by a blind man is something special. Borderline life changing.— July 9, 2008 3:11 p.m.
Shin Splints
Nice to see a post on running! I ran track and xc in college and typically put in 60 miles a week. More often than not, shin splints go away after a few weeks of consist running. If the pain is unbearable take some time off and start up more slowly. The most common type of shin splint is caused by tight calf muscles. These are common in new runners and the tightness of the calf causes pressure on the shin bone and painful irritation = shin splints. Keep your calves loose and build up your mileage base slowly.— July 9, 2008 1:28 p.m.
5 sexy dates under $25 - Mira Mesa style
Jollibee... I'm skeptical of a place that serves rice, noodles, burgers and bizarre desserts all at the same time, but I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion— July 9, 2008 8:49 a.m.
Bicycle Exodus
Haha! All too true. Ironic that I've started blogging under the name 10speeds. Bicycles are taking over, and the more vintage your look the better off you are. I packed up my old 10speed and brought it out here from Boston, it was too much a part of me to part with. Just graduated from college and hanging out in San Diego before I start that full time job thing, comment on my blog if you know of any nice rides in the area.— July 9, 2008 8:44 a.m.
5 sexy dates under $25 - Mira Mesa style
Thanks for the suggestion! That remaining $10 will go a long way at In-n-Out. Great tip.— July 8, 2008 8:31 a.m.
Bike accident, flat tire, and where to get it fixed
Hey! Good luck on that bike, it looks like quite the ride. Have fun out there, and if you get a chance check out the coastal riding along HWY 101, it's beautiful along Cardiff State Beach Etc. Thanks for reading!— July 3, 2008 10:06 a.m.
Summer Starts
Glad to see Jack in the Box has survived the development phase! I can hardly imagine no traffic on Mira Mesa BLVD, no more cars accelerating toward red lights and buses pulling up too close to the curb. We still play cowboys and indians in the canyon but I haven't found any artifacts yet, I'll keep you posted. Thanks for reading!— June 24, 2008 9:16 a.m.
