We have met the Underminer, and he is us
yeahhh, I'm gonna go ahead and *gasp!* disagree on this one. There is so much invention and joy in this film, and you have already pointed a few examples in your own review - how Violet's emotionally handles her crush's mind-wipe of her memory (who can forget that hilariously awkward restaurant scene), how Jack-Jack's powers are introduced to the family (Bob initially placing a table and books on top of the crib had me in stitches), etc. And let's not forget Edna Mode's amazing problem solving for Bob's baby situation (via identifying the issue of Jack-Jack's unpredictability), Dash remote-controlling the Incredimobile and seeing the destruction it creates on live TV, and the use of the Voyd's portal powers that enable Elastigirl to safely capture Screenslaver. And your comment about the raccoon scene? Bird envisioned that from the start, while he was directing the original film. He really wanted to include it, but didn't have the opportunity to do so. That scene was an idea that that has been brewing in his mind since the debut, so it really doesn't deserve the "tacked-on" mood that you are giving it.— June 14, 2018 8:52 p.m.
