Located oceanfront in Belmont Park, the Wavehouse San Diego featured two wave machines, multiple bars, an athletic club, and four restaurants. The venue is adjacent to the excitement and activity of the Mission Beach boardwalk, making it a prime site for people-watching along the boardwalk and on the sand. By 2018, the locale was also hosting the Beach House Grill.
