South African vintners remodeled the former paleo bakery in Bird Rock to spectacular effect. The cheerful space looks out on La Jolla Boulevard, and the decor makes use of old bottles and barrel staves to create a charming, classy space.
LJCW basic model involves sourcing grapes from northern California, processing them in a Napa facility, and selling the wine by the glass and growler, rather than bottling it all. They do have some bottles, but the emphasis is on the 1L growler, the stemware at the bar, and the tasting menus.
