Tucked into a strip mall off Morena Boulevard and spitting distance from the USD campus, this popular Thai lunch counter deserves the respect it gets from admiring locals. Prices tend to the bottom end of reasonable, despite the fact that the restaurant has more humble design charm and space than many others and the cuisine stands a cut above the rest. Do try the duck soup ($8), which packs a tamarind-y wallop, or the similarly priced chicken and rice dishes. $3 chicken wings, lettuce wraps, and satay skewers may not look like much, served as they are in little paper buckets more reminiscent of a New England fish house than a Thai restaurant, but they are good.
