George's at the Cove Ocean Terrace
This informal rooftop eatery has the best view of anywhere of the La Jolla Cove. The kitchen is led by Chef/Partner Trey Foshee, Executive Chef Masa Kojima, and Pastry Chef Aly Lyng. A casual dining menu includes seafood, salads, sandwiches, and more. Always includes fresh locally sourced ingredients. Menu highlights include the Local Tuna Crudo starter (yuzu ponzu, avocado, cherries, ginger jelly) and Seared Rare Local Yellowtail (eggplant miso puree, hon shimeji vinaigrette, choys). Excellent mussels are another memorable dish.
There are three tiers to the restaurant – Ocean Terrace, Level2, and the Lower Level. Ocean Terrace has table seating, as well as 22 spots at the elevated bar. Level2 is craft cocktail driven, and lunch and dinner are also served. It’s open air and has a view of the water. Lower Level is the private event space, enclosed with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for the view of the water.
