The restaurateurs behind Whisknladle and Prepkitchen have installed an eatery on the third floor of the massive Girard Avenue complex that formerly housed Jack's La Jolla. Outfitted with modern interiors and a large patio looking out over The Jewel's downtown business district, Catania offers an extensive menu of assorted starters (with a seafood bent), house-made pastas, flatbreads and hearty entrées. Many of those last two utilize a white oak-stoked woodfire setup that shines particularly well on a rotisserie item of the day.
