What's the best and worst thing about where you live?

I went to Berkeley and lived in that area for a while. So there are differences between San Diego and San Francisco. The best things about San Diego…the weather, surf, and burritos. The worst is that there’s no value on integrity.

From Mira Mesa (Clothing Company Owner)

My least favorite thing about living in Mira Mesa is the traffic. I think that’s probably the only thing I don’t like about it. There are so many things I do like about it. It’s central to San Diego. I like all the Asian food places everywhere. It’s Manila Mesa. Those two things are probably the best things, but there are a lot.

The best thing about living there is the diversity. The worst thing is the scary ghetto people hanging around at night. In the Paradise Valley area, some of the black people that hang around the streets at night just make me feel unsafe. I do like that there’s a mix of people that are open to others.

From Chula Vista (Construction Project Manager)

I think the worst thing about where I live is it’s the suburbs. And the homeowners’ association. They’re the lawn Nazis, getting mad if you have three blades of grass that are too long. The best thing is the view of the lights of TJ at night. It’s also a good place to raise a family. And there are a lot of nice walking trails.

From Ventura (Financial Advisor)

I live in Moorpark, in Ventura County. The worst thing is that there’s no nightlife. The most exciting thing you can do at night is go see a movie. The best thing is that it’s a safe neighborhood. I guess there’s a correlation between that. Oh, and there’s a tiny river behind me, which is great for ghost hunters, if you’re into that strange sort of behavior. People have often filmed segments of those shows there.

From Normal Heights (Caregiver)

I lived in Arizona and Seattle, so I could make a really long list with those places, too. The best thing about Normal Heights is that it’s close to Hillcrest and South Park. And all the restaurants, bars, and breweries along 30th and Adams Avenue. There are just so many that it makes it the perfect location.
