Dana Cottrell, a man of the sea, passed away on January 24, 2017. His 23-year Army (SP4) and Navy (ABF1 AW) career included overseas assignments in Vietnam, other parts of Asia, Europe, Africa and Middle East. Even after he retired, he still had the need to be by the sea. He spent weekends with his wife, surfing at Coronado Beach. He loved old Hollywood, old rock-n-roll, good food, drink and friends. His knowledge of the arts, movies, music, books & history was massive. Dana was a native of the Bay Area. He enjoyed retirement in La Mesa, with his soul mate, Stacey of 31 years. Dana is survived by his father, David Cottrell, his brother, Daniel and his sister, Soraya Scheibel, with many nieces & nephews. His mother, Sonja Cottrell passed away many years ago.
