James Durant

James J. Durrant, 73, of Jacumba Hot Springs, CA, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 in his home after suffering a heart attack. He was born in Columbus, Kansas on October 1, 1943 to Frances A. (Abbott) and Donald M. Durrant, both of whom precede him in death. James was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, friend and above all, a blessed child of God. He is survived by two sisters, Donna J. McElvain and Sharon L. Jackson, three daughters, Kimberly A. Durrant, Suzette L. Votto, and Tracie L. Terry and the woman he loved dearly, Mary Hughes. James had nine grandchildren, LeeAnn Alvarez, Jacob Breschi, John Breschi Jr., Kristopher Breschi, Chad LaCuesta, Kyle LaCuesta, Charlayne Stack, Andrew Votto and Victoria Votto and five great grandchildren, JaLissa Alvarez, Frank Alvarez Jr., Anthony Alvarez, Delilah Riley and Jaisan Powers.James was preceded in death by his nephew, Bradley Jackson and survived by his niece Rajeana Marston, nephew Randall McElvain, great niece Amber Reavis, great-nephews Brandon Robles and Devon Robles. Jimmy was loved and adored by multitudes of people across the nation. He had finally found his perfect place in life at DeAnza Springs Resort where he was deeply loved by many. He was a gentle soul and a great friend. He was still quite close with several friends from his childhood, high school, USMC, Ironworkers Union #433 and everyone in between.He will be deeply missed.
