In most board games the weaker player is at a disadvantage. The weaker he is, the more frustrating and the more boring is the game. Go overcomes those problems by a system of handicapping.
S.T.A.R. stood for the Star Trek Association for Revival and it was an organization with branches in Utah, New York, and even Japan. San Diego had the biggest branch of S.T.A.R. (300 members at its peak).
